Please provide me with some feedback regarding current events.It has been many months since I have done one of my huge polls, so here goes.

Asking if 'illegal drug use is a problem' is a bad idea as it's tough to interpret the responses. Is it the drug use which is the problem, or the fact that it's illegal? The abortion question is likewise too narrow to accurately interpret the results.

I've voted in most of the categories above. However, there where a few were I chose to provide remarks below.

What is your political leaning?

I would describe myself as a bit eclectic in my political views, which I beleive most people are. I.e., don't fit any of todays current labels. For example, I would decriminalize marijuana.

But, I'm mostly conservative with some Libertarian mixed in.

do you support the war in iraq?

This terminology has always confused or bemused me. Literally speaking, If I supported the war I'd guess that means I donate moeny or bullets for it. Of course, that's not what you're referring to.

I am not for a withdrawl unless we can do it in such a way as preclude the instability, and civilian violence, from spreading. I am certainly not for expanding it to other countries/regions. I think it best left to the military to decide how to best achieve the objectives decided upon by the civilians.

Do you approve Of the job The President is doing?

No as regards fiscal spending and the issue of illegal immigration.

I think Korea & Iran are of major concern, I think some recent headway is being made here.

So far, I haven't heard much, if any, good ideas from anywhere regarding what to do about Iraq

Is global warming a concern to you?

Yes, but I'm sceptical as to the magnitude of the problem and the extent to which it is caused by mankind. I strongly support alternative energy, as much for reduction of pollution as weaning ourselves from ME oil. I think that would restrict their resources and allow us to pursue a ME policy tanatmount to the Amish "shunning"

I do not support the president or his administration. I don't trust them. I think they knowingly lied to start this war. The war on terror is a joke, it's mishandled and idealized. Abortion is a womans right to choose, period. Considering all the benefits we could obtain from stem cells and the fact that they would be discarded anyway makes this a non-issue, anyone with a brain and a soul would support it. Drug use in this country is rampant, and theres nothing that will ever be done about it, it's human nature since the dawn of man. legalize pot, it's no more harmful than alcohol. I don't drink and I don't do drugs, so I'm not just saying it so I could buy a bag legally. Global warming is real, forget finger pointing, just try to do something to prevent it's damaging the earth anymore than it already will. How hard is that?

Present Presidential administration is incompetant. Not able to plan and deal with real world pragmatic issues. Doctrinaire. Even if you approve of their views I can't see how you can consider them to be capable. I do not trust them to handle anything reguiring competant decision making. Too ivory tower.

Global Warming is going to be a major problem, regardless of cause. We ignore this at our peril. Given the expansion of effluent and pollutants over the last century, it would be surprising if we weren't effecting our enviornment significantly.

There is too much money in illegal drugs to make the smart choice and back off the prohibitionist stance. The ill effects of the Drug War are much worse than the drug problems. But there is just too much money in it, legal and illegal.
