Current 4850 drivers?

What are the current best drivers for this card? System in my sig.

That's what I'm using and have no stability issues in any of the games that I play. This includes Fallout 3, which many people claim to have problems with.

Any advantage over the default drivers that come with it on the CD? (what I have been using)

Very likely there are. But if you are using the CD drivers and have no issues, then why would you upgrade them?

You obviously don't want to be using drivers that are a year old or more, but if all your games are playing fine and at a decent frame rate, then there's really no reason to upgrade.

There were issues with some games, but I have no idea whether they originated in 4850 drivers or not. I'm currently doing a complete vista reinstall/ new MB thingy, so seemed like a good idea to install current drivers as well. Am I wrong?

Given that you are reinstalling everything, you should definitely update to the newest drivers off the AMD/ATI site (9.3's).

Also check and make sure that there aren't updated motherboard/chipset drivers as well. Those can increase performance in any number of applications, not just gaming.

AMD update drivers every month with things like fixes, performance increases and features, it's best to remain as up to date as possible (I've updated every month for the past 4 years and never had a problem). Theyre posted here on AT when they're released.
