Curious question about these two pictures...

Comparing these two girls, I notice that just by the way they look, girl one a sensitive caring girl, while girl two looks like the oppositie (No thiis is NOT a paraody thread).

It's something in their facial expression.

I just can't figure out what it is....

anyone know?

I've never seen the show.

I doubt you can determine someone's personality by looking at a photograph.
Or maybe I should say my world does not work that way.

Girl 2 is a sorority bimbo wondering how much money she can get out of someone

BTW, girl 1 (Evangeline Lilly) never really acted before this show... she was a runway model... damn is she a good actress too... good find.

You're totally right, Buddah. Take me, for example:

I look like Sasquatch, but less blurry, and with less hair. I also have a confused and/or angry look on my face basically 24/7. The truth is, I hate everyone and everything that isn't me.

actually i'd say the opposite. girl on the bottom has the look of someone who's confident on the outside but emotionally needy on the inside. girl on the top looks like someone who really has it together and doesn't need to pose about it.

but that's reading a lot into it.

Girl one looks like she has compassion. Girl two looks like she's wearing her shorts backwards.

Basic daily human interaction conditions the brain to draw those observations from facial features. Usually, when someone is emoting a certain attitude, their facial expression matches it (this is compounded 10-fold when dealing with acting, and since most of us watch television and movies, it gets pounded into our heads even more).

Case-in-point, the popularity of the Comedy/Tragedy masks.

Whether the photos are "real" or not is not the point. He's talking about the physical characteristics that make you feel a certain way about somebody, which is a pretty hot topic when you get into psychology.
