curious: how many techies scuba dive?

just curious how many tech types out there are into scuba.
it seems to attract alot like myself down here in sunny south florida.
how about technical diving: cave or deco?

im padi open water certified. unfortunately i dont have my own gear yet

i've been to catalina island a couple of times and to a sucky ass beach at the end of the 133S (OC, CA)

My husband used to dive a lot when he lived up in Alaska. Hasn't gone in years (but I'm sure he'd like to get back into it.) He designs CPUs for a living, so I guess that would be geeky enough to qualify as a techie type.

I've been diving for about 3 years now. I've been a spelunker (caver) for about 20 years and I want to try cave diving once I get more diving experience.

I'm not a tech type but I scuba dive pretty frequently; one of the benefits of living by the world's second largest coral reef, not to mention the awesome diving in the cenotes.

Seeing as the only large body of water here is Lake Erie, and it's pitch black after 15 ft or so, there aren't too many places around me to scuba dive.

Advanced open water diver here ... about 30 dives in total I guess. Great Barrier Reef, Byron Bay Australia and around Cozumel in Mexico.

I like it, but don't actively seek it out as a vacation. If I wanted to do it where I live now, it would be in river water, recovering bodies mainly ... nowhere around here suitable for anything else.

I've been diving since I got to Okinawa, probably around 60 dives at this point. No tech diving yet, though I've been down to 130ft before (not terribly exciting). I am thinking about getting into wreck diving in the Great Lakes when I reach Ohio, but I want to see what the dive community is like there before I commit to buying a drysuit. I have a full set of tropical gear (3/2mm suit is my thickest), and the plunge into cold water might necessitate some gear changes since I'm not sure what my reg will do in cold water.

PADI Advanced Open water.

Done a mix of local and Caribbean. I've also been to the Flower Gardens and Stetson Bank off Texas. It is really worth the time if you can get on a trip out there.

You live in Belize? (or does the reef extend up into Mexico?)

PADI Rescue Diver here, training as Divemaster..... maybe about 40 dives done... have about 5000 in SCUBA equipment, alot more than my computer thats for sure. I live further away from the dive spot than I used to, so not diving as much and my divemaster training is on hold for now. mostly coldwater diving. 7mmx2 coldwater wetsuit keeps me warm

Screw that - get a drysuit! While "dry" is a bit of an exageration, the difference is night and day.
