Ive been looking at some of their models and I really like the SX830 and SX1030, but I do have a few questions. First of all, are the metal pieces that cover the expansion slots (that you have to remove to install a card) screw in, or are they the kind that just pop out? I prefer the screw kind, and I would think a good quality case like these would have that.
Now the 830 series has this big air vent in the front. I would prefer my intake fans to just be exposed to the open air. This way they will get more airflow, and sometimes air going through spaces before it gets to the fan can be noisy. Has anyone modded the front of this case, and if so, how difficult is it?
I like the 1030 a little better due to the increased number of drive bays, but does that front panel completely come off?
My favorite so far is the KS188. But doesnt it seem like the fan placement could be quite a bit better? The way it comes, there is no fan to forcefully suck the hot air from the CPU. The exhaust fans are too high for this, I imagine their primary function is to cool any hard drives mounted in the back anyway.
So if anyone could help me with any of this I would be very appreciative. Also, taking into account what I've mentioned here, are their any other cases I should consider? Thanks.
