Curiosity about organ donation

NetWareHead

THAT guy
A curiosity about organ donation I had while listening to the radio on this morning's commute. Something about a woman who donated a kidney to her boss who was on dialysis. She ends up getting fired and its some big deal now about her wanting her kidney back.

Would this even be possible? Say you donated a kidney and the recipient ends up dying, say in a car accident of something similar where the donated kidney was not damaged. Could the donated kidney theoretically be scavenged from the deceased and returned to the donor? Would the typical immuno-suppression drugs taken by the recipient do something to the donor kidney? Or could the kidney be donated again to a third recipient in need?

Indian giver? Why she get fired? Was it just workforce reduction, because of her donation, etc.? Finding it hard to believe one would given anyone in their workplace such a viable thing.

With my family history it is likely that I will need both of my kidneys later in life. The only person I would donate one to would be a family member. No fucking way would I donate one to my boss.

Plus, she probably signed some sort of release or agreement so what she wants now is irrelevant.

She should have thought of this before she donated her kidney. She's an idiot.

The back story about the angry lady is amusing but IDGAF

Im more interested in this from a medical perspective; if possible to return to the original donor after a kidney has spent time in a recipient's body. Anybody with a medical background care to chime in?
