Nope, won't be a cure. Might help in some cases and even save some lives though.

LOL, maybe...

But I've looked over the article (didn't read it all, it's pretty long) and IMO it's legit. They aren't making any outlandish claims and they present a great deal of data.

But there are a few non-trivial issues with applying their approach to human cancers.

South Korea isnt hampered by moral issues and the red tape scientists in the US are... they will be finding a lot of stuff sooner than we are because of this.

It does exist. My mom is looking at experimental treatments (her condition is nothing deadly) and a similar treatment's on the list for carsenoid tumors.

Perhaps, but this study was done in mice. Otoh, give PETA and the ALF their way and even that might be problematic.

I think I'd rather they find a cure for stupidity first. (Edit-before curing overpopulation...not cancer).

Wow, I'm intrigued.

If anyone would like the paper broken down in further detail, I can do so later. I've got the full article saved as PDF and cancer is my field.

But not now, I'm going to play golf!

Kill the stupid people and solve both at once?

They'll never truly try to find a cure for cancer...it generates too much revenue as a treatable, incurable disease.

Not every country works the same way as the US. In places with socialised healthcare cures would be very much appreciated, so scientists not working in the US wouldn't really care what was best for US hospitals.

I thought Eddie Van Halen already discovered the cure for cancer.. Or at least what he claimed on the Howard Stern show

Cancer is too adaptive to have a cure. Like the common cold. But it is interesting.

Hello. I am a cancer researcher. I make zero dollars from anyone being treated for cancer. If I were to invent a cure for cancer, I would probably win the Nobel Prize. What's stopping me from doing so?

For that matter, if it's just a matter of motivation as you imply, why don't YOU invent a cure? Worldwide fame and millions of dollars will be yours. What's stopping you?
