Please tell me this is fake news or an Onion article.

No intelligent person could possibly take cultural appropriation this far:

http://news.nationalpost.com/news/w...urally-appropriating-food-sizzles-in-portland

here is a small sample from the article:

Portland, Oregon, has become the epicentre in a growing movement to call out white people who profit off the culinary ideas and dishes swiped from other cultures.

In the days since two white women were shamed into shutting down their pop-up burrito cart after telling a reporter that they had “picked the brains of every tortilla lady” in Puerto Nuevo, Mexico, Portland has become all but fed up with cultural appropriation within its city limits. One writer has stated, flat out, that “Portland has an appropriation problem,” going on to explain:

“Because of Portland’s underlying racism, the people who rightly own these traditions and cultures that exist are already treated poorly. These appropriating businesses are erasing and exploiting their already marginalized identities for the purpose of profit and praise.”

Someone in the City of Roses has even created a Google doc, listing the white-owned restaurants that have appropriated cuisines outside their own culture. For each entry, the document suggests alternative restaurants owned by people of colour. One “Appropriative Business” is Voodoo Doughnut, the small doughnut chain accused of profiting off a religion thought to combine African, Catholic and Native American traditions.

I just have no words to describe the insanity of this situation. I guess that means the Asian guy that makes pizza down the street needs to quit and run only a Chinese or Thia or Sushi restaurant.

So the real question is which is the greater menace to world peace: Male Circumcision or Cultural Appropriation?

Both of them are today the largest concern for white males with lots of internet access, so they must be very (the most?) important.

If you come to bring me tasty food I don't care about what cultural background you have I shall be pleased.
If you come to cut the end of my dick off I don't care about what cultural background you have I shall punch you in the face.

Well, we've had plenty of fun picking on conservatives lately, I guess its time to look at some liberal assholes and insult them.
I'll start.

"Liberal: A person whose mind is so open their brains have fallen out."

Portland will be fine. Hippies will be gentrified out by more cynical techie liberals soon.

The original story was retracted as false.

A NOTE FROM THE EDITOR (5/31/17) Dear readers: Due to new information that has recently come to light, we have taken down our blog post, “This Week in Appropriation: Kooks Burritos and Willamette Week.” It was not factually supported, and we regret the original publication of this story.—eds.

lol. alt right snowflakes won't care, though. It only has to be "true enough."

Well, shit. My local Chinese place is run by a family of Koreans. To be a good liberal do I need to stop ordering delivery from there, or is being Asian close enough? It is not like the Chinese has all that authentic Chinese cuisine. If the burrito place called their burritos 'Beef and Been wraps' would it no longer be cultural appropriation? Is a Mexican appropriating English culture if they make a sandwich? This is all so confusing!

Personally, as a liberal, I find cultural appropriation one of the things that makes America great. We take in all cultures and find the best part of those cultures to incorporate into this hodgepodge of a culture we call our own, so all the people are represented as the best parts of themselves, and our nation is made stronger for it.
