Yeah, someone posted a thread about this a little while back. 1993 wasn't that long ago, or at least not for making accurate predictions regarding technology.

dms105 on youtube has it right:
"All of this technology already existed in 1993, it was just too expensive to mass-produce. ATT was just stating the obvious. "

That is many times the case... that said if I would have seen hulu, netflix, unified communications, or an iphone in 1993 I wouldn't messed my pants up...

That didnt piss me off as when they jumped to .50! By then however, I had my own cell so I didnt care anymore, but my nephews still had to come up with the dough.
 
Those "at&t: you will" bastards were also the first ones to use a banner ad on a web site. Gee... thanks for inventing that annoying ad format guys.
