Only 162 games left to find out. Just like how all the Mets players ended up on the injured reserve list.

Baseball is not a game of skill, but really 162 games or 1458 innings of pure luck and endurance.

My understanding of the situation is that the Cubs feel no need to perform well because their fans are so the loyal the stadium is sold out every game no matter what.

Discuss?

There is certainly that to consider. Their % attendance figures are regularly in the top 3 of MLB and ticket prices continue to climb.

I agree, but to be an athlete and not want to win? Who are you, the Pirates?! Pshhh.

Go Cubbies, it's a shame Mark Cuban didn't get em - and I'm a Spurs fan, hah.

Pro athletes want to get paid.

Cuban would have never gotten past the other franchise owners.

lol cubs

glad I moved out of that warzone.

I will say, I'll miss the drunken 30+ fratboy parties that wander too far into Boystown and end up at an unassuming gay bar only to get super freaked out when they get hit on. Even better, the ones who like the attention :p

He would have injected some life into a sport that REALLY needs it. Baseball feels like its dying, especially with teams like the Yankees, RSox and Dodgers - granted, they're not winning, but they snag up a lot of good talent and it gets wasted.

Ignorant comment is irrelevant.
