I don't think this game is really like Minecraft at all besides a shallow similarity in graphics. This seems to be more of an action RPG with actual voxel graphics.
I'll probably get it once it is actually released.
^^ This. I think of it as an open-world sandbox version of Neverwinter using colorful voxel graphics.
I bought/paid for it because (IMHO):
- The current feature set is great
- I like the premise of what they're doing
- I like the road map of where they're going
- I like the gameplay features
- I like that it's really just a fun time-waster that brings in several different genre elements
- I want to see how it progresses developmentally
- It's a 2-person indie title, and I love what they're doing with it
- Lastly, I wanted to try it out because I think it's something the my kids will enjoy
