its amazing so many games are copying Minecraft (which was a copy of miner wars, etc..) and just adding features.. While I loved minecraft.. this is more my cup of tea.. goals.. the just explore is great, but even that can get old, give me some extra stuff .. this would be an awesome game to mix with minecraft.. pick a spot, start your city, build it .. with the quests and monsters.. I always felt Minecraft missed that "something" to take it to complete greatness.. its great, but just a few blocks short of the very best ever.

I don't think this game is really like Minecraft at all besides a shallow similarity in graphics. This seems to be more of an action RPG with actual voxel graphics.

I'll probably get it once it is actually released.

^^ This. I think of it as an open-world sandbox version of Neverwinter using colorful voxel graphics.

I bought/paid for it because (IMHO):
- The current feature set is great
- I like the premise of what they're doing
- I like the road map of where they're going
- I like the gameplay features
- I like that it's really just a fun time-waster that brings in several different genre elements
- I want to see how it progresses developmentally
- It's a 2-person indie title, and I love what they're doing with it
- Lastly, I wanted to try it out because I think it's something the my kids will enjoy

Game shares very little with minecraft, it's a bit disappointing to see people turn off voxel graphic games just because minecraft has it. It's just asinine.

That aside, the game is bizarrely gpu intensive. I run it at 2560x1440 and it seems to stress my 7970 more than D3, Dota2, and League do though that might just be a very unpolished approach to the graphics rendering process for now.
Enable vsync via amd/nvidia cpanel and your problem is solved. Maybe turn down AA slightly. Cubnge World is rendering too many frames (300+ in my case). CS:GO during beta had similar issues; I remember reading how peoples cards got fried if they had a poorly ventilated case. My GPU in CS:GO beta and Cubeworld hit 80c without limiting to 60fps. I'd like 120fps but I can only lock to refresh rate ;(.

Overall I'd say it's a game that will be worth buying in the future, but for now it's not worth it because of how much is left un-done/half working/weird.

That makes zero sense. If you think the game will be worth it in a few months, just buy it now and save yourself some money. I'm buying the game this week (been pirating it because of the registration issues) and I agree 100% with your suggestion on people waiting until release to play if they want a perfect experience. It's a bit silly to not save yourself a few bucks. Wolly will be increasing the price closer to retail, and it's 20$. I've spent more time playing Cube World in alpha than I did Marvel Heroes and I haven't even paid for it yet, so for me that says a lot. I still have 3 classes to try out.

Minecraft for me was ruined by checking it every other update; I started enjoying the game more by ignoring updates until a big one came around. I feel purchasing it later when it's 25$+ is wasting your money.

P.S. I agree on mobs being difficult and then incredibly easy when you have more than one player. They really really need to add in ranged AI inaccuracy. Fighting mages/rangers that autoaim my rogue midair while he's executing moves makes me cry every time.
