I have a Terratec EWX24/96, Abit KT7a MB, Athlon 1.2ghz, Cubase VST5.1 and Win Me.
I am able to record a combination of the WaveRec Mixer (MP3) and the Analog in of the EWX in Soundforge or Wavelab.
However when I have Cubase open in order to master songs using VSTi and samples I get the error message "Error opening Wave Device for recording". I imagine it's becase cubase is using the EWX exclusively via ASIO? I just want to record the Analog in from my outboard mixer - it's muted in the Control Panel to avoid a feedback loop.
I can record the mix using the Hercules Gamesurround also installed, but the sound quality will no doubt suffer.
Basically it seems the EWX can only be used for playback or recording. Is it because it's not a "multi-client" soundcard?
I didn't have this problem with an SB Live (but did have latency!)
