Cuban March

Stupid Fidel,

Just because you overthrew an unjust government and created a humane one does not give Cuba the right to exist without American oversight. In order for the world to be safe, America must militarily and economically control every region and square inch of land on the planet. People like you, who take matters into their own hands are the reasons the world is in such turmoil.

MAW

Sure Cuba has the best health care system in the world, and the best educational system in Latin America, but the Cuban system is free of American oversight, which is what makes Cuba dangerous to Americans. What if they are plotting to develop WMDs? I think we need to invade Cuba and liberate the population, because like President Bush said, "you're either with us or against us!"

LOL!! thats to funny to take seriously.

I hope so. Once they get there the United States military could kill one million socialists right on the spot. Those people are the scum of the earth.

If you really consider Fidel's government humane, you don't know jack sh!t about Cuba.

Kage is right , if you call Castro humane i'm scared to hear what you think about Sadam

Kage69,

Have you ever ready any books about Cuba? Books written by Fidel Castro? Books about the conditions of pre-revolutionary Cuba? If you want to have a serious debate about Cuba, I'm open to it. I will say, however, that I have read many books specifically about Cuba, its economy, its healthcare system, and the attempts made by Americans to overthrow Fidel's government. So please. lets talk . . .

I got a better idea, how about you go educate yourself a tad more about this issue before you go trying to sound like an educated authority on the subject. I don't give a rat's ass what the hell you've read, especially if it was written by Fidel himself (does the term 'conflict of interest' mean anything to you?). I've been out fishing with my dad off of the Keys, my home, and seen Cuban and Haitian refugees trying to make it to our shores on anything that will float. Yeah, it's so great in Cuba people will brave a 90 mile stretch of water, inclement weather and lemon sharks notwithstanding, to get clear of a wonderful, humane island nation. I've been at the dinner table with Cuban schoolmates and listened to their parents tell of Castro's navy machine gunning refugee boats, killing and wounding their friends and relatives. Do you know what happens to a Cuban if he's returned to his island by our Coast Guard? A nice long stay at a 'humane' prison where he gets the crap beat out of him on a daily basis.

Sure Castro has done good things for Cuba. Even Saddam whipped Iraq into shape when he was the sole seat of power and could spend government funds the way he saw fit. That's not the issue though - you said Castro created a 'humane' government, and you're dead wrong.
Oh, but you've read a few books on the matter, one even by Fidel, who are we to disagree? Dumbass.

Please take this Fidel cheerleading of yours to Hialeah, Fl. I'm sure you'll get a great reception.

Edit:
I know it's not related, but the biggest dolphin (mahi mahi) I ever caught on light tackle was plucked out from under a refugee raft - 38 pounder on 16lb. test! Not sure if the raft was Cuban or Haitian, but I know it was unoccupied when we found it. I like to think the Coast Guard saved them. 🙁

Heh, I'm still laughing over this one...

Let me guess, if you wanted to read up on if Iraq had WMD, you'd read a book by Rumsfeld or Wolfiwitz? 😀

haha . . . sure I am not going to believe everything written by Fidel Castro; however, when he presents economic facts I will consider his interpertation.

How many of those refugees were Haition, Dominican, or non-Cuban. Cuba has BY FAR the best living conditions out of all the former Caribbean colonies. If you for one second believe that the Cuban government is torturing people who attempt to illegally travel to America, then you're way off base. Fidel Castro's government is certainly not free of flaws, but it is better than any of the others in the region.

By the way, I have a very good friend whose parents feld Cuba during the revolution. The people who fled were the wealthy land owners who actually had something to lose in the revolution. The vast majority, 90%+, were extremely poor before the revolution and living in poverty.

If you believe that Cuba is such a horrible place, then you are believing the lies of the American government. As was stated in the article from CNN, the US is transmitting anti-Castro radio programs towards the island. They would only do that if they were trying to turn the population against him. By admitting they are attempting to turn the population against him, they are also admitting that Fidel Castro does have the support of the VAST MAJORITY of Cubans.

So you can take your unconfirmed torture stories and cram them where the sun don't shine.

Yeah and if I wanted to know if Iraq had WMDs I would have read a book by Wolfowitz. No wait, maybe I would have researched the fact that they used falsified documents to present to the UN. Maybe I would have actually read something instead of observing people of Latin descent floating to shore and assuming they are Cuban.

Reading is the only true way to understand the dynamics of an issue. Try it sometime, you might find it interesting to learn about the multitude of interconnectiong causes of an event or situation.

Ah, so if Fidel orchestrates a viable economy then he is automatically a humane leader. Yep, you're a dumbass.

You're attempting to detract away from the issue. The issue isn't the living conditions of former Carribean colonies. I have this tendancy not to take people like you seriously, sorry. Keep on topic, or shut the hell up - it's that simple.

By the way, I have a very good friend whose parents feld Cuba during the revolution. The people who fled were the wealthy land owners who actually had something to lose in the revolution. The vast majority, 90%+, were extremely poor before the revolution and living in poverty.

And this is relevent how exactly? The economic standing of Cubans we both know is irrelevent to the issue, the treatment they received at the hands of Fidel's goons, is.

So not only is staying on topic a problem for you, you have a propensity for attempting to put words in other poeple's mouths. Nice. I don't believe Cuba is a horrible place - I believe Castro is far from a humane leader - please note the distinction. The viewpoints of the US government are irrelevent to what I believe. Please, by all means, if you really think I'm some mindless supporter of US policy do a search on this forum for my posts. Your factoids are lame: the VAST MAJORITY of Iraqis supported Saddam Hussein before he was ousted. Neeeext......

So you can take your unconfirmed torture stories and cram them where the sun don't shine.

I take it that's supposed to put me in my place, right? 'Unconfirmed'? Seems someone needs to visit the Human Rights Watch webpage!

You're so dense; you missed it didn't you? So now in addition to me never reading a single book on Cuba, all of my Cuban friends back home are of questionable nationalities and/or full of sh1t. Wow. Just do us all a favor and go back to smoking Castro's hog, ok?

Reading is the only true way to understand the dynamics of an issue. Try it sometime, you might find it interesting to learn about the multitude of interconnectiong causes of an event or situation.

Now I'm convinced you are just a prepubescent moron content to regurgitate all spit and no polish. Your lack of understanding on that which you proclaim to comprehend is sad, but not surprising. I now feel robbed I've devoted this much text/time to this thread, thanks a lot.

...but I'll give it one last try, and since I'm a nice guy I'll make it easy for you: how does Castro's economic policy make him and his government humane? Please enlighten us O learned one...

if you weren't such an idiotic troll you would know that fidel didn't overthrow the gov't that came before him. i bet you can't even name the guy without looking at google.

Holy crap, someone actually defending Castro, and based on a book written by Castro no less.

Here's a conundrum for you. If Castro is so popular and Cuba is so great, why doesn't he hold elections?

If Castro is so popular and Cuba is so great, why doesn't he hold elections?

He doesn't need to! Why? Because Cuba has the best health care system in the Carribean! Don't you see?

We're waiting MAW. Please educate us on the multitude of interconnecting causes in this situation which allows Fidel Castro's regime to appear humane. Being illiterate heathens, ignorant to Castro's most excellent health care policies, we crave your worldy book-based knowledge.
