I think he is an idiot and they should kick his A55 out immediately. If we start letting retards like this stay in our country, it will only give inspiration to the Chinese, Mexican, Haitian, and other immigrants that risk life and limb to enter this country. They need to follow the correct procedures in filing for political asylum or to get refugee priviledges, not stuff themselves in containers, walk across deserts and jump over fences, cling on to homemade wooden boats and hope it will reach Americas shores, or, hang on to planes. These people need to know that they are NOT welcome if this is how they choose to enter the country. Most of them end up dying trying stupid things like this. May as well have stayed in their POS country and committed suicide, why waste the effort?
despite the tone of this post i agree.

what about all the other people who are waiting to enter this country legally? where do they stand? they should have more of a right to be here than he does.

((...and everyday i turn into more of a conservative))
Yeah Canada already has enough retards like you, why would they want another?

LOL
i agree on a few points with SherEPunjab. my parent's legally immigrated here from England when i was a few months old. but i also agree with yowolabi when he says how desperate they must be to see death out at sea as an acceptable alternative to staying. It does piss me off because i have relatives that have been trying to get their visas for years just to visit, not stay, but visit. but keep in mind, you have no clue what his living conditions were like in Cuba.

I'm sure Cuba is bad, but is it worse than say, Afghanistan? Many Afghans have been trying to get into Europe and Australia, and have STILL been turned back. How can any western nation justify letting in a Cuban person when an Afghan (I'm willing to bet the life of an AFghan is much, much worse than a CUbans') is sent back? Because he was stupid enough to hang onto a plane? You'll have tons of people trying that then.

They can go in as a student. They don't need to hang on to no plane!

Skoorb, I would hope they don't go about doing it that way. I would think they would handle it with a third party human rights organizaton (many are based in Europe for example) that will help the individual file it and then they would send it off, not the person themselves, if it is the case like Cuba, as you said you can't trust the govt.
If such an organization exists accessible to Cubans, and if the average Cuban could get that info (Adul brings up a good point), there is still the key question: How will the Cuban leave the country?

They will most likely have to sneak across the border into a neighboring country and then take a boat or plane ride (if they have the money) to the country they wish to go to.

He was supposed to apply BEFORE he entered Canada.

Before, as in while he was outside of Canadas borders....

Got it?

How do you know? Can you show me the Canadian law that says that a person can't apply for refugee status in Canada upon entering the country?

But I thought sneaking was bad? Isn't that what he did to get into Canada?

Do you realize that a "neighboring country" to Cuba is the United States?

AND Cuba is an island...hard to get into a near by country! Rafts seem to be the number one pick....

yeah but its illegal to come to the U.S. from cuba thought? i guess if it were me i'd go to a nearby country that i can easily get to. and from there find the resources to take a flight of boat ride to the U.S. I wouldn't hang on a plane tho!

n-e ways gotta get back to work now...
Thanks for the read

you know, its funny how americans were so enraged at our immigration policies after 9/11. the idea that someone could enter canada illeagally with nothing and stay then sneak down into america really pissed everyone off and now its being encouraged.

yes, this guy should stay and yes this guy can claim refugee status and if his claim is valid, yes he should be able to stay.
i'm just saying that we really shouldn't encourage people risking their lives and doing crazy things to get into this country. we hear so much about women from asia being brought over illegally to work in the sex trade, or boats of families who died because they suffocated in the cargo barge of some ship, i think that as a responsible nation we can't let these things happen and we can't encourage them to happen. but then how do people claim refugee status? how do they get here? can we stop these things from happening?

I don't think that Canada is encouraging it at all. However, once he gets in there and legally starts the refugee application, then they can do everything by the book.

That is traditionally how people have migrated for thousands of years in search for a better live/asylum.

How can we be so detached from humanity that we see no valor or desperation that theses helpless people has to endure for a chance of a better life?

My father & 3 others men were prepare themselves, and their families for death on the South China Sea in 1980. We rather die on the ocean trying to escapes the communist than live under their rules. We endured the violent ocean & survive the pirates on a 30 foot boat with 4 men, 3 women, and 12 kids (2 of the men were 19 & one woman was a pregnant 19 years old).

I?m glad that we made it from Vietnam to Malaysia then Canada & US. And, our lives are much better now thanks to the humanism of people around this planet & the Red Cross.

I am still in awe that we actually did it despite of the danger, and I?m still sad that hundred of thousands of people that has tried but died in the perilous ocean.

The common believe that there are over 100 000 Vietnamese died during the great escaped on the ocean, or a total of about 300 thousands over ocean & land from 1975 to 1985. And, more than 1/2 of those had died were children.

Please have a little bit of heart because these people bleed the same colour as you and I.

Is Canada REALLLY that much better than Cuba?
Barely. Afterall Canada is only marginally better than the US 🙂
😀 I don't know why I like cracking on Canada. I've been there so many times and always want to go back.

One thing that Canada has on the US is water runoff... Everytime Canadians flush their toilets, the water is going to head South... (with the exception of the New River in North America) So I guess there's a little Canadian in all of us.

Me? I was born here dude.

Guess you just lucked out in the crapshoot called life. Easy to talk when you don't live in a 3rd world communist country, isnt it?

And do what? Scratch the landing gear? The guy was *hanging* outside the plane. Christ... what if terrorists start popping up in Cracker Jack boxes!?!

As a lot of other people pointed out, leaving a country that has a regime similar to Cuba, or middle-eastern countries (I'm speaking from experience) is not similar to leaving this country. There isn't an office with a long, boring line to wait in where you fill in some paperwork and your "Yes, have a good trip, thanks for being a citizen!" comes in the mail 3-4 weeks later. If you don't have money to buy your way out, you don't get out.

How about putting a little less effort in pointing out the imaginary man-made lines we call our borders, and putting more effort in remembering this guy is human and has a family just like the rest of us.

Wow, that Marc Cuban will do anything for a laugh. First he turned the Mavericks into a real team, and now this.

😉

well i don't know how the plane is designed and all but im sure theres a little room in the landing gear compartment. Take quite a few explosives with you on that plane and you're good to go. And one thing you have to keep in mind, he will not go through customs or possibly any airport security. so it is a valid point. btw, as far as i know, he wasn't hanging outside the plane. he was clinging to the landing gear which is brought into the airplane upon take off. (at least i believe that's how it works)

If they have money & their relatives are in cahoots with the corrupted government, or a member of an international wealthy gang such as the Triad.
