Cuban cigars.

I was a bit apprehensive about picking up a couple Cohiba Esplendidos Habanos S.A. boxes (25 each) in Costa Rica for my friend because I was afraid of fakes. However, everything seems to be authentic after I checked them out at the cigar shops. I hope that my buddy like the gift because it cost me $75 USD for each box and that after I haggled them down from $100ea (the tourist shops was selling them for $100~150ea in Costa Rica).

If you paid only $75 for a box of Cohiba Esplendidos Habanos S.A. then you purchased counterfeit cigars. A box of 25 retails at $500, a box of 15 goes for $300 from any legit retailer. The boxes you purchased might contain Cuban tobacco, but they are crap.

They are all even chocolate brown, with shinny embossed gold seal rings that look identical to the image in your link.

Every thing in this link suggested that it is real, but I hope that he still enjoy it even if it is fake.

not in Cuba it isn't. Get them at the official stores and they are not expensive.

Here in Ontario a real box of Cohiba Esplendido's go for around $1200 from a legit importer.

there is a saying in my country: "pay more and get the front seat". The same with with Cuban cigars

i was in cuba last year and bought a box of 20 or so in one of the plantations. about £30 or so

was really interesting being in the cigar factory where they roll the things, sort the leaves etc etc
