Cuba bans computer sales to the public...

You have to remember that Communism relies on restricting the flow of information to the masses and replacing it with propaganda.

I can hear Elledan typing up a flame at you right now 😉

And I care because........? If he can't take the truth then I really don't give a crap what his opinion is because it is probably wrong anyways.

big deal, that only affects the .001% if the population that could afford a computer. And of those, probably 80% are in the communist party and are allowed to own PC's.

Actually, I think they should promote the use of computers and the internet, and the pirating of software and movies. Would make a nice addition to the Grokster community.

<< Internet accounts -- which cost $260 a month

:Q

And that's $260 where AVERAGE ANNUAL INCOME IS $240 :Q:Q

Sucks to be an engineer there too. They get paid a salary of $25 a month. Most engineers in the US and probably around the world, earn that in a little over an hour.

Only $25/hour? 🙂

Let's invade Cuba and free those oppressed people!
I would shudder at the thought of losing my computer and internet access. All the porn sites out there that I haven't visited!

<< Little Ellian is so lucky he gets to grow up there... >>

I envy him

Bear in mind a lot of the basic nesscessities are provided by the govenment.

No one in Cuba really lives a bad life (Unless you're in jail I suppose...)

That sucks.

Cuba has some pretty crazy policies but the country itself is very cool to visit (I went there last year).

<< I am glad I don't live there. >>

You won't have to if Sen. Fritz Hollings (D- Disney) gets his way with the CBDTPA. Your computer would be considered illegal because it has the ability to digitally copy information. (Sort of like how photocopiers were illegal back in the old Soviet Union...)

<< You have to remember that Communism relies on restricting the flow of information to the masses and replacing it with propaganda. >>

Indeed. China and Cuba (and the like) restrict access to information because they don't want thier citizens to find out the deep, dark, dirty secret of communism: It sucks.

You're confusing Communism with a tyranny.

Obviously you don't have a clue what Communism is about.

Obviously you are currently confused as to the location of you head because it seems to be planted firmly up your arse. I really don't care about the opinions and ramblings of someone too insecure to enalbe their profile. You must be form one of the few looser countries left that still believe that Communism is a vialble form of government in the 21st century.

I like my privacy, don't you?

Nope, I'm from the EU.

Fact: Communism works just as well as Capitalism.

Both ideologies are non-functional systems.

Cuba and the Soviet-Union under Stalin are/were tyrannies. China hasn't been a Communistic country for long time now. They're pseudo-capitalists. In fact, the Chinese political/economical system is starting to resemble that of other countries which supposedly have a free market (US, EU etc.).

You obviously haven't even bothered to look up 'Communism' in the dictionary, otherwise you would have known that Cuba's political/economical system is about as close to Communism as the system of Iraq is.
