Not allowing you to shift by yourself?

Having to shift yourself would also be seen as a driving distraction by government morons.

So they could claim a 2fer. They are helping the environment, and saving lives, by pushing for automatics.

The fact that this will increase the cost of the vehicle has never bothered them before.

Doesn't increase the cost much / at all, depending on the demand for manuals.

That is why some cars are starting a surcharge to get a manual model. It's LOW DEMAND and tooling up for a few strays here and there is expensive.

Gorgeous car. I think it is the best luxury sport car out there right now. I'd probably take the sedan though as 4-doors are much better for hauling people around.

I love two door coupes, but I am torn on this to which looks better...that 4 door sedan is one of the few I'd consider if I had to pick one as a daily driver.

Whenever I shop for cars, the auto trans is usually an expensive option if a manual trans is standard.

A manual trans surcharge is probably for cars where an auto is standard.

Yes. 😛

Though a bit of that is scammy as they do it that way on some cars that they still sell 80% autos or more on.

It goes both ways though, so to speak.

Consider this:

The current gen BMW M5 weighs 4012 lbs.

However, we're really getting into the next gen cars now.

The 2010 BMW 550i weighed 3946 lbs. The 2011 BMW 550i (new gen) weighs 4343 lbs, a jump of 397 lbs.

If the next gen M5 jumps the same weight (and I hope not), that'll put it up at 4409 lbs.

To be fair, the M5 is four doors, although I'm not sure how much of a difference that would make. If you want a heavy car though the 2008 RS6 is over 4400lbs.
