Not 100% sure but I think it is safe to disable it from STARTUP.
(Start \ Run type msconfig then click START TAB, tick box next to file)

well disable it from STARTUp does not change any thing and unisalling the Audigy drivers and even removing the sound card dont change any thing i still get the same message( i feel a format coming ON) and i dont thing there is many people who realy knows what the problem realy is? ( sorry to say......... but i will try a little longer to find out what it is

You can try to manually register the Library.

Go to START \ RUN type cmd

at the Command Prompt type regsvr32 cteaxspl.dll

if that is not successful than you can try unregister it.

at the Command Prompt type regsvr32 -u cteaxspl.dll

Thanks for the continued help but still no luck ........load library("CTEaxspl.dll") Failed the specified module could not be found is the message for registry & unreg..... which has me thinking could this be some sort of spy ware? or virus in my system? do you have any other tips it would be nice to nial this problem???

try taking the card out of the machine/disabling. then uninstall all progs, drivers to do with this, Reboot a couple of times. see what happens

I have removed the card and the drivers and used the on board sound (Asus p4c800 delux mother)the same problem still as i said it dont seam to be a creative problem well at least i dont think so..........

I have just found the file CTEaxspl in Program file /Creative/program the Icon EAX ( i have tryed to reinstall drives etc still no luck keep getting the same message........ any one esle have any ideas?/

could you go thro the registry, and delete all keys with that file name - might cause major crash, but if you were thinking of reinstalling anyway..............

It definitely is a Creative problem.

You can try looking in the WIN.INI for any references to the file
(would most likely be under RUN = or LOAD = commands)

To edit the WIN.INI file go to START \ RUN and type sysedit

I'm having the same problem: something's trying to run the splash screen executable at startup, but I've removed it. How did you solve your problem?
