CSV Clustered Shared Volume Server 2K8 HyperV

I've got a few questions to bounce off of someone but I've yet to meet someone using it. I've got 2 2k8 servers with VMs on both connected to a Promise Vtrak E310s SAS. Everytime I make changes on one server to the file system on the SAS the changes are not seen on the other server. I''m using adaptec 51245 raid controllers using the external SAS port.

The simplest solution is to stop using the inferior MS HYperV product and move to ESX/ESXi.

It is doubtful that ESX will solve an underlying SAN misconfiguration.

In any case, HyperV is an excellent product, especially for those of us without massive IT budgets.

Do you have failover clustering installed and your shared storage added to the cluster? The fact that you are making changes on one server but not from the other suggests that the volume is not clustered.

If you are attempting to use this setup as a simple shared volume without failover or CSVs or anything, it isn't going to work and will end in data loss. NTFS is not a cluster file system.
