SO I was watching Cspan of all channels today and they had a speaker ( a black dude) @ Conesius College in Buffalo NY making a speech regarding his opinion against reparations for blacks.
What was funny was the Q and A session. All but one guy who asked questions was white and studied "african American Studies" at Conesius or @ UB. They acted as if they knew more about being "black" than the black speaker.
They argued that student vouchers were 'running away from the problem' and that the reparations were targeted towards corporations and not individuals and chastized the speaker for not knowing enough about the reparationos movement.
Calmly and collcetively, the speaker rebutted with fantastic arguments such as that these corporations are in the end RUN by individuals, and that little old ladies somewhere would have to foot the bill. In addition, most of the people that would be funding this would have had NOTHING to do with slavery. In fact, some of the people paying would be black, and worst off, because they would receive so much money, social services would die a horrible death. Basically he argueed that logistically it was impossible, and the stirred up animosity would hurt blacks more than it would help them.
And on the topic of Al sharpton and Jessie jackson, I was really impressed.
"This country used to have Italian leaders, Irish leaders....where are they now? THey are gone because we don't need them anymore." Basically he was saying that the uneducated follow them and he was so true. HW aalso pointed out how these 'leader' NEVER point out excelling blacks..."because then they'd be out of a job."
What was interesting too was the end was the disscussions over Republicans. I must say after the speech, I was pretty moved at the plight of SOME but not all republicans. Democrats came off as assholes in this one. That part was obviously bias but it was still interesting to listen too.
CLIFF nOTES: A black Guest Conesius College in Buffalo, NY gave a speech on his disaproval of reparations and the animosity that would be incurred.
Like 30 little white pricks were bashing him saying that he wasin't REALLY in touch with his "back side." Needless to say he was calm, composed, and OWNED ALL OF THEM.
Oh yeah..he was getting pissed of at them too so he started couhing when they were talkiong etc to annoy them. His arguments always held water.
My hero for Monday
