downloading the installer is not the problem...

getting CS 1.6 and the other mods off steam is a slow and painful process ;-)

nice post forcesho ... tried link#2 and it was down, but link#3 worked.

Is steam the only way to get 1.6 or will it eventually be hosted somewhere?

i've tried for over 5 hours to get into a game and it keeps freezing at different points along the way ;)

worse than the beta releases

I finally got steam to update itself and actually start up without locking up.

Now it keeps locking up when I go to update CS.

What a POS.

God I'm adding CS to my list of games and it's still on converting Half-life files to steam cache.....

I finally closed out of it after letting it sit there for 20 minutes doing absolutely nothing.

after 10 minutes close it and restart steam.

www.gotfrag.com has lots of posts of the different problems people have been having with steam/1.6

I fell down my chair when I saw this picture! It was just intense! I can imagine the guy waiting for Steam to update and waiting for so long that he died... LOL!

I don't think our technology is yet ready to support Steam. For something like this to work, everyone would have to have massive bandwidth, and most people just simply don't have that. The servers would have to have even more bandwidth. Ugh, I hate steam. I don't see what was wrong with the old way of distribution.

God this is the biggest POS evar. It keeps on locking up now when I try to install CS into My Games. FVCK STEAM, FVCK IT ALL. :|
