CS Source running like CRAP

i cant get fps to stay constant, it has suddenly begun to drop frame rates down to mid teens the second i see someone.

any suggestions? im running Omega drivers, the latest version

Sorry, I don't have an answer, but I just wanted to share in your misery. CS: Source seems to have started running like sh*t in the past few months. I get similar behavior as you. When a few folks are on the screen in a battle the framerate dips to the teens.

1280x960, max fps is like 50 then drops to 20

try the latest ATI drivers(not omega)?

i updated my omega drivers prior to posting, and it eliminated an Alt+tab problem i used to have, but ill try the ATI's sometime soon.

It has been CSS in general. I stopped playing because it is hard enough just to get on a server. The server selection screen is laggy (choppy to move), refreshes slowly, does not save favorite servers, and then the game has choppy (10FPS constant with 6800GT at times) and weird gameplay. I posted about this a couple weeks ago.

Argh, when is Valve going to fix the favorites not saving!!??
