CS:Source Problem, is it my computer?

Ok, so i just put in 3GB of ram in my computer, before i only had 2GB but now i got this extra stick so i put it in...at first, everything was running fine, but after about 2 hours, i was playing Counter-Strike:Source when it suddenly freezed on me, so i said ok no problem, hit the kill switch, and turned the computer back on, then i opened CS:S and found a different server, and after i loaded the map, 20 secs after, it freezes again, and it keeps doing it, even if i create my own game, it still does it. So could it be because of this memory, or...is my gfx card overheating, i mean i never had any problems until i put in this last stick of ram...

I would remove the new stick and see if your computer returns to normal. Since that is the only thing you changed that's where you should start.

Probably the ram, since that's the only thing you changed. If removing the stick fixes it, try running MemTest on it to see if it really is bad.

And for the record, it's froze, not freezed.

if its not this, try deleting ur config file in source folder some dick admin might of messed with it. I like to get my config how i want it than put it on read only so no one can mess with it if an admin decides on messing with it he can all i have to do it restart cs and its back to normal.

Ok i search on google, and i found the answer...it said that cs source has problems with dual channel memory, but the thing is, i had 3 dimms, so it shouldnt be dual channel, and i mean, it worked with all 3 dimms for 2 hours cuz i played right after i put them in, then after the 2 hours it just freezes...n e way, i took out 2 of the dimms and left just 1 in there and it works, so apparently thats the problem, but i dont want to have to take out my 2 dimms each time i want to play cs source, so what do i do, anyone know of any patches or anything?

I'm having a very similar problem right now.

Before I had one stick of 512MB. Now I have two 512MB sticks.

If I have both sticks in, regardless of whether I'm in dual channel mode, I lose about 10% in the CS:Source visual stress test, and in-game it's very choppy when it wasn't at all before.

If I figure anything out, I'll update here.
