I like CS:S...they even added the new character skins.

But they still haven't fixed the CT skins yet. The arm holding the gun is short sleeve, but all the CT skins are long sleeve.
It's not something they missed and it's not a bug. It's for the same reason they didn't create a left and right handed model and instead just flip the model to the other side.

I can't stand CS. BF2 is much more fun to me. I like the quicker pace and the more open-ended style of play. It reminds me of TFC.
I can't believe you think BF2 is faster-paced than CS:S. (or were you mistakingly talking about CS 1.6?) You're playing on the wrong servers (long round timers as an example) or dying a lot if that's the case. CS:S maps are much smaller and with very specific targets. The open-ended style of play actually makes BF2 slower paced. But if you like open-ended gameplay, I agree that BF2 has that in spades, which is one reason why I'm not fond of it. Squads had the potential to counter-act this chaos, but few people seem to use it.

i played CS:S for the first time today I have to say that so far i dont like it....of course it took soon to make up my mind, i have to play it for a week and see if i can get use to use to it, after all ive only played on 2 servers........I didnt like that u dont respawn, if u get killed u have to wait 2 min to get back in a the game and im a newb so of course im going to die, so the whole hour of me playing CS:S consisted of me waiting for all the downloads to complete for each server and waiting for the game to restart, in the end i think i only had 10 min of actual game play , rediculess, i only have 15 sec to buy a weapon, wtf i dont know the weapons how to u expect me to pick a from weapons i dont know about in 15 seconds lol, oh yeah and u have to be in buying area lol wtf

BF2 has its problems too , im not going to lie, like some people mentioned above , it sucks sometimes when theres no vehicles around and u need to get to a flag thats real far away.....most of the time there is no teamplay, everyone does their own thing, and most of the commanders ive seen suck and dont know what their doing.....lots of bugs and slow ass server browser, and a memory hog, i mean seriously dont care what anyone sais u shouldnt need 2gb to play THAT game.........

in the end i cant stay away from BF2, i just have to crank down the eye candy to lower memory usage, sucks cause my vid card can handle the game fine on high but i cant use those settings cause it takes too much memory.

you are right BF2 isn't faster paced. What I really meant to say is the shorter respawn time. but open-ended play is what I'm really looking for in a multiplayer FPS. I'm originally a TFC player and I've been looking for that kind of experience for a while now. I like a game where I can choose to hang around base defending, be on the assault force, play whatever classes etc whenever I feel like it. basically a relatively relaxed and varied environment. I hate how I have to always be on my toes in CS or spend 90% of the time in limbo.

Flipping it over is different than everybody having the same arm.

And I really hate that spinning 2 when BF2 is loading. It's so annoying because you think it's gonna do a 360, but it just restarts the 180 everytime and I feel like ripping my hair out.

LOL I feel ya man, that bugs the piss out of me

they are both really fun games. CS:Source is improving with its new models and now HDR is availible for de_dust. I play both games on all high, and I must say, I think the source graphics are a tad bit better. Maybe not even the graphics, but the colors. The colors in source are bright and vibrant. The colors in BF2 are kinda dim and orangy. Maybe its just me.

Does anyone else think the respective graphics settings are better on CS:Source. Or is it just me???

I havn't played CS:S for a while now (3 months?).

Did they change the way you run? It seems like it takes a little while for you to stop now.

I use to be pretty good, but when I connected to a sever I got pwnd....badly 🙁

Well you know there are hundreds of deathmatch servers in css that respawn you and your opponents over and over just for practice. If you would have asked around the game, people would have most likely directed you to one, i was taught that when i was a noob. Or it could have been me sucking so much, that they just wanted me out of the server.........😉

Same arm, flipping it over -- both were motivated by the same concern. That's all I was saying. I wasn't saying they're the same thing.

yea i love those servers. at the start u get options of (1)choose weapons (2) use previous weapons and such. choose ur pistol and gun then blast away..die, respawn instantly at random spawn area🙂 its great for practice/trying out weapons. its not hard to find..i don't know the name but i've never purposely gone for it, its popular enough that u can find one with just a few tries...

I play both, love both. when I want to pwn people with helo and F-15 I go for BF2... and basically just general mayhem.. for pwning via headshots I go for good ol CS:S

i like css. they keep improving its models/maps/adding new maps and such. pretty nice. seems bf2 is balkanizing its servers with booster packs and such. like what happened with 1942 when they just spammed expansion packs and split up the few people playing so it just started to really suck

They are both two diff types of games. I prefer CS:S when I don't have a lot of time and just want to shoot around. BF2 when I'm feeling more serious and have more time to kill.

I tend to enjoy Cascading Style Sheets. OH! Counter-strike: Source! I get it. Nevermind!

/lame poke at when this happens in real "CSS" threads

I much prefer CSS. BF2 just isn't a very competive game, at least not unless you play in clan matches. There is no teamwork in public servers and it is ridiculously unbalanced. It's basically just running around on a virual battlefield blowing stuff up. It doesn't make you want to go onto a server and prove your the best player on it like CSS.

For a great time in BF2 ...go to TacticalGamer.com. Great fun and the best teamwork around!!!

Have fun,

Chappie
