im getting tiered of BF2's bugs and problems and also the fact that it needs more then 1 gb memore.....I havent seen a thread comparing the two was wondering how the two compare, i only i will miss the vehicles in bf2...

im downloading cs:s as we speak from steam , unfortunitly its only downloading at 150 kb/sec instead of 1000, so its taking its sweet time but i look foward to playing it

2GB is dirt cheap now.
No reason not to own it, unless you go 64bit then you can justify even more ram!
;)
Play both.

CS:S for now. My comp can't handle BF2...

personally I would probably prefer to play BF2 though; squadron-based battle appeals to me.

For me CS:S is my preferred game. Aside from the bugs and a huge majority of immature bastards in the community, I didn't like the feel of it really. I guess I'm more of an arcade-type, pick up and play game that you can just jump into and leave whenever you want. BF2 was fun for while though.

i played BF2 all summer and winter. Lately Ive been playing CS:Source. Now Im going back to BF2. I usually just play each one untill I get bored, then I play the other for a while. That way, neither one gets worn out too much

I like them both, too. BF2 about knocked me on butt when I first played since I hadn't played anything of similar scale before. Prior to BF2 it has been years and years of deathmatching and CS. For those who haven''t tried BF2, do yourself a favor and at least give it a week.

I will admit, however, that BF2 does start to wear thin after a couple of months. The matches are so long, and at times tedious due to their largeness of the maps. There are only a few maps that are worth playing imho anyways. I've started playing BF2: Special Forces which is a great change of pace since it's far less reliant on air craft. Which reminds me, aircraft are a BIG headahce for BF2. The pilots are so well practiced that half of the time you're in the middle of big firefight repleat with vehicular carnage and all of the sudden *KABOOM* The entire skirmish just got blown up by a bomber. Yay

I can't stand CS. BF2 is much more fun to me. I like the quicker pace and the more open-ended style of play. It reminds me of TFC.

Do you have 3 ram slots? If so one is the main dual Chanel slots (1 or 3) and the other two are optional. Then you put 1 GB in the main slot and 512 in each of the other ones. And you should still have dual channel. Check your motherboard manual to be sure though.

I have 4 ram slots, i was doing some reading and if i put 4x512 then it lowers it from DDR 400 to DDR 333 id im correct which would suck , so its either that or sell my current ram but that would be a huge loss of money specially since i bought my 1 stick of ram not even a month ago , what am i going to sell it for used , 20 dollars ?...for now i guess i have have to put everything on low except texture to medium and 2xAA and still looks decent and plays without lag.....CS:S i can max out everything with no lag but im not sure if i like it , im use to BF2

I bet you could sell your ram for more than $20.... Look in the FSFT forums to see how much its going for.

They both have bugs where at times it prevents you from playing. I would be more content with playing BF2. At least there I can actually kill something. Plus the graphics are better. However, what sucks about BF2 is that noone plays in squads and it hurts sometimes. In games like those, including Onslaught of UT2004, sometimes I feel like I'm the only one playing for the team, where everyone else is either doing the wrong thing or playing it like a deathmatch. Where at the end of a round, the first 3-6 players, including me, have killer scores and everyone else looks like they just spawned.

Sometimes, you're stuck without a vehicle to get to the battle and you have to run. When you get there, either the flag has been taken and you have to walk somewhere else, or you die and you restart at another point where you need to do more walking.

And I really hate that spinning 2 when BF2 is loading. It's so annoying because you think it's gonna do a 360, but it just restarts the 180 everytime and I feel like ripping my hair out.

But they still haven't fixed the CT skins yet. The arm holding the gun is short sleeve, but all the CT skins are long sleeve.

Huh? I don't think I notice anything.

I like play both of them but sometimes after I play CS:S right after BF2, I keep thinking that Q (quickswitch) is the CommoRose. I spam the Q and click to try to "tag" or "spot" the enemy but I end up just quickswitching and someone kills me. Ugh, annoying. But hey, that's just me.

lmao, i hated CS 1.6 and I still kinda dislike CS:S. BF2 is eating up some of my time but neither compared to Wolfenstein:ET. No respawns in CS meant waiting forever sometimes, the people that are CS freaks will get that headshot/awp shot 96% of the time, and you'll be back in limbo without even hitting someone. BF2 you got the bugs (which I don't normally notice anymore) and the crappy squads but the jets have been nerfed.
