No kidding. This game is fun for about 30 minutes. Then it gets old and the hackers or spec/ventrillo players come in.
Good times!!>!>111:thumbsdown:
Don't play.
as for buying weapons, I had my F keys set up to buy one item each - f1 was m4/ak, f2 was scout, f3 was awp, f4 was aug/sg552, f5 was m3, f6 was famas/galil, f7 was p90, f8 was mp5, f9 was deagle, f10 was flashbang, f11 was hegrenade, f12 was defuser, vesthelm and vest (in that order). it's still important to memorize which numbers were what weapon though (b31 was a TMP), especially since some T numbers arent the same as CT numbers (in rifles and in equipment).
I too believe that DPI has turned into a gimmick. However be aware that lowering the DPI on some mice will cause it to pick up negative accelerate faster. I believe the best course is to leave DPI on the recommended, windows sensitivity on default, no mouse accel, and adjust sensitivity via console. Most CPL players use extremely low sensitivities. Most players that are actually good will tell you to use a lower mouse sensitivity and a bigger mousepad. My mousepad is 11"x20" and I have my mouse set to 650dpi. Mouse dpi is a gimmick.
That was the old scripting way. In source you can call the weapons directly. I personally use a +meta buy script, which is basically the same thing but opens up more keys. First we need to make each weapon we want to buy its own alias:
alias akm4 "buy weapon_ak47;buy weapon_m4a1"
alias galilfamas "buy weapon_galil;buy weapon_famas"
alias deagle "buy weapon_deagle"
alias usp "buy weapon_usp"
alias ump "buy weapon_ump45"
alias scout "buy weapon_scout"
alias xm1014 "buy weapon_xm1014"
alias p90 "buy weapon_p90"
alias m249 "buy weapon_m249"
alias autosniper "buy weapon_sg550;buy weapon_g3sg1"
alias aug "buy weapon_aug;buy weapon_sg552"
alias mp5 "buy weapon_mp5navy"
alias awp "buy weapon_awp"
alias m3 "buy weapon_m3"
alias vesthelm "buy vesthelm"
alias vest "buy vest"
alias defuser "buy defuser"
Then we make a giant ass +meta bind to wrap it all up (note you need to bind +meta to a key, i use alt:
alias +meta "bind f1 galilfamas;bind f2 usp;bind f3 ump;bind f4 scout;bind f5 xm1014;bind f6 aug;bind f7 m249;bind f8 vest"
alias -meta "bind f1 akm4;bind f2 deagle;bind f3 mp5;bind f4 awp;bind f5 m3;bind f6 autosniper;bind f7 p90;bind f8 vesthelm"
so basically when you press f1 it buys you an ak/m4, but if you hold alt+f1 it buys you a famis/galil. f4 is an awp, alt+f4 is a scout lol

Oh yea, THE ONE THING I LOVE ABOUT ATI CARDS:
You don't get flashed as long when using -dxlevel 95, at the expense of more dust vs -dxlevel 81. Totally worth it though as the only place the extra dust is kinda annoying is scoping into b tunnels from t spawn on dust2. No one goes there in competitive play so don't worry about it.
or just use autoscript and http://www.cstrike-planet.com/files/26-AutoScript-v10-zip bind the buy keys in the regular in game keyboard setup window
and don't run from the spawn holding a rifle blocking people with your slow slow run speed like a dumbass.

I wouldn't bind any kind of macro going to the buy menu; occasionally it lags and does something strange, so you might buy something you don't want. It's much easier just to set a bind to buy a weapon directly. I think I only have a single gripe with my setup, and it's that I only buy TMPs when I'm a CT, but never a Mac10 when I'm a T. I haven't really figured out a way around this (lol) so I just know b31 is a quick TMP. Its the only gun I use outside of my regular binds. I don't use smoke grenades because I can never seem to use them properly; either I throw one, wait for a while, run out and get shot anyway, or get killed in the act of throwing the smoke (doh). I should probably work on that...
what monitor can go to 240hz?CS:S looks pretty beautiful to me... I have a dedicated CRT for some 800x600 @ 240hz goodness
Basically any CRT that can do 2048x1536 should be able to handle that. As you lower the resolution with a CRT, the maximum refresh rate skyrockets.
but the vertical sync range max ive seen is 160hz at 1024x768 and lowering the resolution still won't allow higher than 160hz. what monitor do you have?
