Maybe he's saying that you can shoot while in mid-jump and the random bullet could easily kill someone.

I think the problem with the AWP is that it is the only one-shot-kill weapon that isn't necessary to hit someone in the head. (except when you're lucky with the pump-shotty) While this doesn't fit in with the rest of the game, it does add a unique dynamic that can be interesting to both players and viewers. The only times I run into problems with it is when I don't know the enemy has the gun so I choose the wrong anti-tactic. Most of the time it's better to kill someone fast than to maneuver in such a way to make aiming at you difficult. However, against a low to mid-skilled AWPer, it's all about maneuverability. (against a skilled AWPer, it's all about your first bullet hitting their head or dieing yourself) I love the Scout from both sides of the gun, personally. It takes more skill to kill someone and it allows faster movement.

I think the AWP needs to be changed somehow, but it needs to be logical and satisfy both pubbers and competitive players. A potential change could be to not allow movement when scoped. (automatically unscope when they move?) Or they could reduce hit damage on the legs and arms so that one-hit kills could only occur on the torso and head. I know many competitive players would be up-in-arms about any change to the current AWP, but when a skilled AWPer comes into a pub, it becomes incredibly difficult to counter. (unlike skilled riflemen) It can even come to the point where a whole team can use the AWP effectively. This isn't balanced. A whole team shouldn't be snipers.

A theoretical change I like to play around in my head with is a market system influenced by demand and/or supply. I won't go into details, but it makes it so the more popular weapons would be harder to purchase. This would guarantee that any team wouldn't be using all one type of weapon and using supply they could limit the number of AWPs purchased over the rounds. This would be an interesting plugin, imo.

Hold your strafe left and strafe right keys @ the same time when you actually fire the gun. You need to be standing still while you fire the awp so hitting the 2 movement keys at the same time is an easy way to stop. I guess you could use forward+back.
