So...i just started using this, and since you guys gave me good tips last time i asked, can you give me any tips on this? Thanks...

i know alot think its a noob weapon but there are some really good players who use it.

the awp is fine, i just get really upset with these discussions because as a CAL player, it just seems ridiculous to not have it or add a scope delay as in 1.6.

btw, any player who wants to be good needs to know how to use the awp at least decently.

There is still a scope delay, it's just about 1/2 of what it is in 1.6.

Learn to quickshot (they added it back in with a patch a few months ago). If you right click and left click about 1/4 of a second later you'll fire in a straight line as if you were scoped; this helps a lot in close quarters situations. If you just press fire you're likely to miss as it's horribly innacurate not scoped.

Stop moving before you fire. A lot of people can't get this down. Peak out, scope, stop, fire, peak back. That's really all there is. A lower sensitivity makes sniping much easier. GL

It's hardly even a sniper rifle considering half the people shoot it off the hip. Well actually the biggest problem is probably that you can still run and be zoomed in. Sniping should meaning standing there zoomed in, not running around picking people off.

You run very slow when it´s zoomed in.

The best way to get better with the AWP is to practice against bots.

You can practice jumping and firing in the air. Aim a bit higher when you're in the air as when you're jumping you hit lower than expected. Practice with bots as already stated.

That's the problem with CS:S, while most other aspects remain true to life, the AWP is so fake. You can run around with it zoomed and there is no sway or anything

There's another thing that should be fixed. I'd like to see ANYBODY in real life jumping through the air while firing a high powered rifle. They'd be dumped on their ass so fast they wouldn't know what hit them.

Firing while jumping should be eliminated entirely and there should be a delay after landing before you can accurately acquire a target.

now lets think of the forces here. when fireing a 12gague ya theres some kickback but nowhere near enough to knock you over. a high powered rifle will also give quite a bit of kick back but theres no way it would ever dump you on your ass. have you ever shot one of these? or are you relying on movie physics. i personally wouldnt like it vary much at all if they made the whole game on movie physics. but if thats your "real life" then please get out more....please.

Granted most servers removed them for obvious reasons but who knows.

I'd say the AWP requires no skill...but I can't hit the broad side of a barn with it. They must be doing something I'm not. Those scout only players are badass though.

are you actually trying to argue that you can jump with a sniper rifle and in the air shoot someone with the scope, that is pure movieland physics

even standing in zoomed mode, your hand movements are going to cause the scope to move a lot, I doubt anyone could hit the broad side of a barn while jumping

physics wise, the impulse is not going to push you backwards significantly but still, cs has never been a realistic game
