^^ exactly, if you don't care how bad it looks a Pentium 1 will work with software rendering at 640x480.

If you have anything faster and you do have broadband you're probably going too high with the resolution and/or are turning on fancy features like AA & AF with a puny lil' gf4 mx cripple-card.
