Wow i can feel the love in here tonight! First off urban is a very decent player. Also everyone has their good days and bad days...depends how much beer i consume. I am not accusing anyone of cheating i just want to see fellow anandtechers play. All these accusations sound like competitive jucies flowing to me which is good...it makes us want to play better. So i hope we can all just PHRAG each other to heck later tonight!

First of all, that's not true. Pretender, who's one of the best players to play on nEo's server, is no longer playing there because of YOU. When I was *just* playing on nEo's server, you joined, and the ENTIRE counter-terrorist team quit the game because you joined. Actually, I've been playing since Beta1. A friend of mine from an old q2 clan gave me the planethalflife.com/counterstrike link when they were in development. Not that longeivity makes you necessarily a good player, I've met people who have only been around for a month who are better than I am.

How about this: He JUMPS through the maps and kills people repeatedly with headshots from the mp5 and the M3. If it were a random occurance I wouldn't have a problem, but EVERY TIME he comes on the server he seems to have this magic ability to be able to jump and not become less accurate like the rest of us mortals.

 

Do some one on one action to just settle it.

Cheaters will generally try to move the focus off themselves, it's rather common. They think that by blaming others and trying to shift the focus on the fact that &quot;we all suck&quot;, their cheating will be ignored. Good luck.


I'm not saying I'm the best, or that I'm even very good. I've been bested many times on public servers by people who play well, and I have no problem admitting it. When people start pulling out superman-like stunts and do things that would be amazing if done once, and then do it 10 more times on the map, it really irks me.

BTW, what's going on? Why are we suddenly sweet-talking newbies? So we can get them to believe us and make sure that we don't get banned from servers? I'm getting sick by this whole ordeal.

I'm a newbie I just started playing when NeO put his server up. I figured that most people would slaughter my ass, well at first they did, then I got better and I only get half slaughtered as I used to! At first I thought firewire was cheating because everyone was only slighty above my level. But he is deffiantly not cheating, hes really good. I think the first person I played with was with Urbantech, he was helpful at teaching me the basics and some advanced stuff. I think I'll be playing this all winter break!

Also about Autobot, he was reallllllly good. I think he and firewire should go head-up.

The best all around TEAMPlayer has to be Paul Vetti!

What you're missing is that firewire does things that defy the code of CounterStrike. For instance, in CS if you jump and fire in the air you're HIGHLY unaccurate. Go back in the server and play against Firewire, you'll see that he jumps around but STILL gets headshots all the time. It's like Pretender said, if it were just once, no big deal, luck, coincidence, whatever. But he does it over and over again.

We can prove this very easily

#1 Spectate me. You'll see that I make very human mistakes...and that I do things like shoot around corners, and then find out nobody is there (so I'm obviously not using spiked models)

#2 Again, spectate me and watch how many times I shoot my teammates, if I was using an autobot, all the shooting would be done for me.

#3 Shoot a hole in the wall and watch me duplicate it w/ the mp5 30 times. There is NOT an &quot;accuracy cheat&quot; in cs...thats foolish

I can give you some advice, somebody gave me the same advice WAY back in beta 6...and I quote

&quot;turn down your god damn mouse sensitivity&quot;

works wonders.

Now, neither you or any of the other players &quot;suck&quot; I dont think anyone really sucks unless they have no concept of whats going on in the game, I think you all have that. But when somebody comes in and steals your thunder, and now you cant come to the forums and play &quot;hero&quot; every day w/ your &quot;look at my screenshots...I'm the best player&quot; posts. Dont deny this either, I can happily post links.

You claim to have been playing since beta 1....and you dont play like a newbie, but you do act like one.

Go to a lan party some time, and when you get beat you wont have anything to complain about except that you need work, and then you can realize how big of an idiot you're being.

Play smarter, not harder

Jumping when you're close to someone wont effect your accuracy w/ an SMG.

WRONG. Autobots don't do all the shooting, you can still shoot whenever you want.

Playing on nEo's server can be fun, because it's against a bunch of other people we all know. Bragging rights are great, but for me, the most fun I have is when we play as a team. When I hear, &quot;GO! GO! GO!&quot; and everyone runs off on their own... well then I might as well be a spectator. It's not that much fun for me then. Maybe if I were some BADASS it would be different?

Isn't CS meant to be played as a team? It's not RAMBO!

and you guys wonder why i play rogue spear...hehehe. all team. i've actually talked out entire missions before we actually started it and in between we would discuss what went wrong and change it. i love it when we figure out we need a sniper and i'm the only one who wants to lug a sniper rifle around the whole map for the second half of the game killing with just my HK .45 or my DE .50.

Teamwork games rock! if you want rambo games, go play UT or Q3A but stay the heck away from CS or RS.

i played w/ you guys for a bit, not long though. and hell fir3wir3 was kicking major ass. i managed to kill him once or twice by surprise...but he killed me about 30.
is he a bot?
maybe, but i really don't think so.
he just seems to be damn good at what he does- those jumps and mp5 to head.
