My FPS is dipping into the single digits when I'm in a game, and it gets worse with more people. I have cl_showfps 1 on and I see yellow and red regularly.

My settings are lowest on everything, bilinear filtering, multicore rendering enabled.

Hardware:

Core i5-750
GTX650 Ti Boost
4GB RAM

Software:

Windows 7 64-bit
NVIDIA driver version 327.23
ASUS GPU Tweak running (stock clocks)

What gives? I bought a new graphics card and it seems like I'm getting worse performance than before with an HD4770.

that definitely shouldn't be happening with your pc, you should have smooth sailing with all on max. perhaps the gpu is underclocked incorrectly when running the game? as in, gpu thinking cs:go is an excel spreadsheet or something and not working to the fullest?
these things happen.

have you tried running full screen?

also, do check what clocks your gpu and cpu is running when you're playing the game. that will show if your hardware is downclocking itself.

No, I haven't tried running full screen. I will try it to see what happens but this is not a viable long-term option for me.

What is the easiest way to check clocks in-game? And how is it possible that my CPU would be downclocking itself?

Apparently there's an option called "Fullscreen Windowed". I tried that and it seems to be much better, although I'm still dipping down into double-digits with all options at lowest. I should still be getting much more than this.
