CS:GO Dedicated server

Hey guys, I'm messing around with running a dedicated server for CS:GO on my HTPC that is basically on 24/7. At this point I have it up and running, I just need to poke around in some of the server config settings to get things tweaked to my liking. However things are a bit different from what I am used to in previous hlds setups, as with CS:GO there is not simply a server.cfg to rule all anymore. There seems to be a different config for every game mode now. If anyone has experience and could help out with that, that would be great.

What I was hoping for, was to possibly at some point this evening get some people to join up and play a round or two, and see how the server handles it. I have no idea how much bandwidth is needed for it to run sufficiently. My internet is something like 18down/3up. If all goes well, and there is enough interest, I would be open to leaving it running for us CS'ers here at AT.

Feel free to add me on steam @ revdiddy. Server details below..

I would if I owned the game 😛

Hopefully you have unlimited unthrottled internet.

lol..unfortunately I do not. I'm on a 18Mb down/3Mb up connection. No idea how that will hold up with actual players connected. I currently have it setup as a 10 slot competitive due to that reason

I joined the server successfully and added it to my favorites. I had pings in the 80-100ms range.

Sent you a friend request as well.

Cool, good to know. How far off is that from normal for you? Hosted in the metro Detroit area, and my relatively weak uplink speeds probably dont help either.

I have to re-install the game (I never really play it), but I'll do so and see about getting in the server sometime tonight, if I can. I'm in central Illinois, so I should be a semi-usable testbed for ping. I don't really aim for servers in games, but I had a friend renting a server in Chicago a while back, and my ping was roughly in the 10-15 range, so I can give you SOME kind of comparison, I guess. Detroit's not too far off from Chicago.
