You change the name in the server.cfg thats also where you can set all the other options for the server.

server.cfg? could you clarify that a little for me and make it easier for a server n00b? 😛

server.cfg will be in your halflife folder somewhere - i dont remember the exact location

Regarding stats, PsychoStats.

But, no offence, if your having problems changing the server name, you might want to reconsider installing a stats program.

Depending on if you own HL Retail w/ the CS upgrade, or the CS retail it'll be installed in seperate locations

If you have HL, then CS upgrad, go to C:\Sierra\Half-Life\C-strike\server.cfg

Find the line that says

/ default server name. Change to "Bob's Server", etc.
hostname "Counter-Strike 1.6 Server"

And change the comments between the two quotes after hostname

I youre using a retail CS, i think its located under Counterstrike\cstrike but i'm not sure.

fyi, pyschostats takes up a lot of cpu cycles and *could* lag your server if it's not good enough.

here is FAQ

-you need pearl installed on the machine
-download the .zip and extract it to your steam/steamapps/name@email/counter-strike/cstrike
-open(or create) autoexec.cfg file (can use notepad for this) and type "log on" - save the file in your cstrike directory
-run your server (you need logs before pstats will work)
-run the install.pl file
-run stats.pl (should open command prompt, then type perl stats.pl)
