CS and XP

Works great.

One glitch though.

nVidia video cards have an issue with WinXP in which the fps can't get past 60 in CS/HL.
To get the fps up to the max of 99, one must run a third party refresh rate fix, one of which is known as nvreffix.
You can do a google search for it.

Works fine for me with Radeon8500 except 2 things:

1) If I play at the same resolution as my desktop res, then the game goes black when I either press esc to go to menu or alt-tab out and back in. (so I don't play at the same res)
2) I can see through walls when the little MSN alert window pops up, lol. WALLHACK!

aite, thanks all. tried it on a friends computer, started HL and couldn't switch to CS, the mod view couldn't find it. i just don't think my friend is too bright and didn't put it in the correct folder. ;-)

CS and WinXP are just fine, plenty of people playing CS. Some people like to remove the mouse acceleration, but that's all up to you. Been playing CS under XP since XP was released and playing Steam 2.0/CS 1.6 under XP -- no problems.

Slogun, is HL/CS the only game that has this problem, or is it symptomatic of all games run on WinXP with an nVidia card?

Actually, all you have to do is disable Vsync under your OpenGL settings for your video card. No third party program is needed.

That's actually in the readme in the CS1.0.0.5 I got, apparently if you play in D3D that will happen no matter on the resolution, though if you switch to OpenGL then it'll be fine, but barely at that!
