They just recently posted to their facebook page that they are making a major Crysis 3 announcement, included a photo of Lingshan, and stated 'in words of Nomad, we're going back'.

I'll update once there's more info.

I loved how open Crysis 1 was. That game was real fun up until the aliens arrived.

I liked Crysis 1. A lot. I really don't understand what all the alien hate is about, then and now.

The game was just more boring after the aliens showed up. You weren't playing a cat and mouse game fighting mercs in the forest anymore, you were shooting big flying things and dodging their shit.

I also liked crysis 1 but the stuff before the aliens was more fun IMO.

Crytek = dead to me.

I was one of the few people who actually enjoyed Crysis 2, and Richard Morgan's story. Crysis 3 is a cash-grab joke with a five-hour campaign that completely fails to follow its predecessor's story in any way that makes sense. And since the competitive multiplayer is garbage and hideously unbalanced, it makes it a $60 benchmarking tool. Thanks, but no thanks, Cevat.

Yup. Except I would say both Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 are cash-grab jokes. I picked up Crysis 2 on sale for $10 and I still thought it was a waste of money. What a generic, boring, empty shell of a game.

They make pretty $60 tech demos, which I suspect is the only reason they're still in business. (Well... and military contracts)

I liked the zero G part......very creative and challenging. Great game! Go hate somewhere else.

God forbid somebody has a different opinion than you. I didn't even get to the alien part of crysis 1 because I found it so boring. That's not hating, it's an opinion. If you don't like it don't post on a public discussion forum.

Cool. I love the Crysis series so it's definitely great to hear this! :D

An island setting on CryEngine 3 would definitely be a jaw dropper..

I had a lot of fun in all 3 games :) A Warhead-like expansion to C3? Yes please!

I think part of the reason they make Crysis now is to showcase their engine (which is starting to bring in a lot of income from licensing).

I'm kind of glad they at least make the game for a showcase, unlike Epic, who now mostly just creates unplayable rendered tech demos and the only thing we ever see from it is average looking games from other developers.

I can see CryEngine3 headed squarely at competing with the UDK market for licenses, so I can see the need to develop showcase games. I just wish they would scrap where they've taken Crysis and start a different IP. The story is just so outrageous and uninteresting at this point, there's almost no human element or character development in the games. It was the pacing and scale of the first game that made it so great, IMO. Now it's all "hurry to the next corridor!!" Hurry!!!!"

I loved Crysis and Warhead. I thought they were both fantastic games. I could do without Crysis 2 and Crysis 3, other than just to look at, I found them a bit soulless.

People have stated 'why redo Crysis 1, it looks fine' and at first I agreed, but looking at some vanilla comparison pics, I can see why it might be rather nice to have Lingshan redone with their current tech.

That's a good point. They certainly know how to market themselves, and it's good to see CryEngine 3 being used by other developers.

Sucks. I never play online :(

I'd love to see a remake of Crysis with the CryEngine 3..
