Crysis Warhead worth the money

I ask because I am so tired of getting raped by these game companies. Far Cry 2 was a total waste of 50 bucks. To me it ranked right up there with Deusex2 and Ravenshield Vegas. Both complete and total port over trash 🙂, Deusex and Ravenshield are my 2 favorite games
I loved the first far cry and if nothing else FC2 got me reinterested in playing it again after I uninstalled and returned FC2 for a refund. I also really enjoyed Crysis all the way up to where you go in the mine. Completed the game a couple times and probably played it through about 10 more times up to fighting the aliens part.

Anyhow is warhead worth the money and what does it play like?

Thanks guys, I value your input.

I preferred the original Crysis over Warhead, but Warhead is still decent, but it's short, however its multi-player is better than Crysis'. In the end it's worth its price if you plan on playing the multi-player, but if you stay off-line (single-player) forget it, it's actually more story-driven than the original, more linear and less open ended (albeit the scripted sequences are technically very well done).

I liked Warhead better than Crysis. The game play is the same as in Crysis, but doesn't have any of the crappy alien spaceship areas in it. (I hated that part of the first game.) The single player is kind of short, but I thought it was worth the $30 i paid for it.

Yes, I should have stated. I am asking about the single player version of the game only.

Thank You guys

I wouldn't buy it for the single player only. It's too short (about 5hrs), and it does not have much replay value. Multiplayer, on the other hand, is phenomenal.

So short answer is no, unless you have an above average computer and plan to play multiplayer.

I wouldn't say above average. More like average.

It was very good. Excellent single player but not phenomenal like the original Crysis. If you enjoyed the original you will also like this one. I would say go for it and for $30 its worth it.

Yes, absolutely. It is one of my favorite games of 2008. The guns, the suit, the graphics, AI, all of them are excellent. Although one of its improvements over Crysis is the multiplayer, something you don't care about, I do think there is enough replayability in the single player to easily make it worth $30. . Might be able to find it cheaper now too.

It's a decent game. I liked the original Crysis a lot better, as it had greater variety in its levels and a more well developed story. Warhead is very short and its plot often makes no sense, although it does have the same solid gameplay and combat as the original.

I also found that it ran worse than Crysis at the same settings, even though the draw distance for the vegetation is reduced. The framerates are generally higher but the game hitches more often due to hard disk thrashing, even though a look at the task manager indicated that it wasn't really running out of memory.

If that's average, I'm in the stone age.

Probably not - I thought the original Crysis was a waste of money, and I can't imagine Warhead being any better

I liked it more than Crysis. I'd say it's worth it if you got the muscle to run it at Gamer at least.

It's weird how the opinions vary here... I thought Warhead was much better than Crysis, it had better level design and enjoyable missions (not like flying the damn jet thing in Crysis, or the alien ship stuff). Warhead's train level is the single best Crytek level to date in my opinion.

I liked both of those parts in the original because they were something different and unique. The level design in the alien base was especially nice. The actual combat in them did feel kind of clunky, but both levels were fairly short and contributed to giving the game a good sense of variety.

The train level was fun, but many FPSs have a sequence like that these days and it also had some of the worst stuttering in the game. It seems that Warhead loads a lot of basic map content dynamically unlike the original Crysis, which improves framerates but reduces overall smoothness.

Indeed smoothness has a great deal to do with it.. If you can play it smoothly it's amazing, if you're fighting the micro stutters then it's frustrating. I ended up using the PCGH config and found it quite helpful for maintaining the good looks of the game while making it playable. The default game was unplayable for me, on anything but the lowest settings (E8500, 8800 GTS 512).

Try Dead Space or BioShock those are just great games anyway you put it!!
Crysis would have been good if they would have left out those stupid parts where you go into the alien ships.
To me FarCry and Crysis are the biggest pieces of crap there are in gaming.
Well Next to NFS ProShit
Yes the Grafix are sweat but the game play is just to same old same old ya know what I mean??
When I buy a game I want something I havent already experienced a million times over.
With Crysis and WarHead its the same thing over and over and over it just gets boaring so quick it will make you sick.
That brings me to anoth game Orange Box TFT how can you guys even play this crap??
I would rather play Halo 3 every day on my 360 for the rest of my life then ever have to play TFT ever ever ever ever ever ever again..
Not only is TFT crap but so is the rest of the games that are packed into this game set.
Stay Far Far away if you know whats good for you..

Bioshock is a horrible game. With the amount of time they put into making the story and game mechanics they might as well have made a SS2 remake.
