Am I the only one that thinks the Crytex engine is horribly inefficient?

I don't think anyone can honestly say right now. We have to have another engine show us what CryE2 can do before we can compare. At the lower settings Crysis runs quite smoothly on moderate hardware. At the highest settings no game can match it.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 is simply a phenomenal video card for Crysis: Warhead, and virtually any other game as well.

30fps is phenomenal? What kind of a BS statement is that?

OP is this a Crysis warhead thread or another one of your 4870 vs GTX 260 thread?

Wreckage is the worst pro nVidia marketer ever, he always try to find a soft spot to promote nVidia hardware, and the problem is that even Rollo has better reasoning and is more realistic, while Wreckage is just trying very hard to win nVidia's empathy to join the group, but with such lame moot points, blindly biased and lack of real and fair knowledge, he can only promote the S3 GTX440 videocard with some luck.

Personal attacks are NOT acceptable!

What does your personal attack on 2 fellow posters have to do with this topic?

The OP posted a link to a HW site and made his personal comment about it. As we all do. It has not become a flamefest .. until now.

It's OK the mods have made it clear that personal attacks on me are exempt from the forum rules.

Although with his lame attempt, it reflects a lot more poorly on him than anything else.

Everyone has the right to not be attacked here, including you Wreckage.

He posted a benchmark link. Just because the results screw with what you think is reality, doesnt mean you need to attack the OP.

Besides all the nitty gritty details? Console development.

When it comes to CPU usage, yes. It should of been better optimized for quad cores.

I've thought that at times, but when I compare what is actually being calculated with, say, Rainbow Six Vegas or something, it seems more obvious that it just does more. At present, it's still asking a little too much of our systems, but honestly, the Unreal 3 engine is to Cryengine 2 what vanilla HL2 is to the current Source engine:

Much better shadows, HDR system, Lighting, and fog effects.
Much further draw distance
Much higher quality sound
and most of all, extremely detailed texturing. The texture is the biggest beef I have with RS: Vegas and many other games.
