often stuttering at lower resolution means your cpu is the bottleneck. try putting a decent oc on it and see if the stuttering persists.

i see.. i guess it will need to upgrade to 4gb. is it me or does the gameplay of crysis not that great? i mean the graphics are good but the gameplay isnt anything special..

while he certainly could pick up a little more performance from an overclock on that cpu, the E7200 is more than fast enough to keep that game playable so thats not it. stuttering doesnt come from the cpu being the bottleneck at a lower res anyway. if the cpu is slow enough to cause huge framerate dips then that will occur at every res not just a lower one.
OP you do NEED more than 2gb of ram for Warhead so that is likely your issue. on Vista for sure it will hitch and stutter with just 2gb of ram. Clear Sky and Warhead were the first games I ran into that needed me to have more than 2gb in my last system.
As our benchmarks reveal, a smooth gameplay with 2 GiByte memory is possible on XP only, on Vista the screen freezes up to one second in some situations. http://www.pcgameshardware.com...e-game/Reviews/?page=2

he didn't say that it was only stuttering at 14x9, he said that he cranked down the details and it was STILL stuttering at 14x9. Doesn't that imply that, um, you know, it was stuttering at HIGHER res, too?
@op, if you're on vista then our japanese friend is correct. you need more ram.
Don?t bother unless you?re running a 64 bit operating system.Originally posted by: SpeedZealot369

On 32 bit Windows each process is limited to 2 GB virtual address space. Therefore it doesn?t matter if he sees 3.25 GB, 4 GB, or 8 GB because Crysis will only ever get 2 GB for itself. Buying more RAM will certainly help, but generally not on a 32 bit OS.Originally posted by: toyota
so he should just keep having hitches then? lol. even if he only gets 3.25 out of that 4gb of ram it makes more sense than fooling with a 1gb kit since they are usually not much cheaper.

There are ways to work around this but they?ve been specifically disabled by Microsoft by default because many device drivers fail if you do so.

right but the system can over 2gb even though that game isnt. on my last system with 32bit Vista, even with all unnecessary programs off I was right at 2gb physical ram usage while playing Warhead and Clear Sky so they would hitch. I got another 1gb(2x512mb) from a friend that had upgraded and it fixed the hitching. now when playing those games it goes over 2gb physical ram. in fact it now sits at 2.2 to 2.3 and plays smoothly where before it would just be right at 2gb and hitch.

I know Windows XP 32-bit does indeed have the 2GB limit per applications, but I'm not entirely sure Vista does. From your testimony it would seem Vista doesn't have a limit per program, but I haven't come across any information supporting or denying this fact.
