if anything, i'd say that finally game makers are telling us the truth about what specs we need to play these games!

most people look at the recommended specs as minimum specs anyway. because game publishers dont care how well the game runs on your machine, they already got their 50$. so they say "lets put P3/1GHz as minimum and mo' sucka's would buy the game."


 
It was expected but still surprising that devs are being honest about it. The recommended specs are nothing short of ultra-high end (you know, you can overclock a GTS to a GTX level) sans SLI/CF.
 
To Crytek's credit though, I bet they did expect 8800GTS to be last gen by now/soon, so it would be like having 7900GT as recommended. This year is unique in that there is no new GPU offering
 
Wow, those are some monster requirements. I guess I'll be waiting until Mid next year to be playing this one.
