If only I wouldn't need to spend a grand on hardware...

if anything, gaming on computers has gotten cheaper. all you have to do is look around to buy the parts (ie, newegg), not take it up the butt from worstbuy/circuit city.

i was reading a BB add today and their *sale* for purchase + installation of an ATI X1550 was $170 (original price of $290 for both)!!!

you can build a dirt cheap C2D/AMD X2 rig with an X1950GT and 2gigs of RAM for $600

How is that possible? It's wide screen.

Yeah, I though the same thing after watching it. It's definetly running at 16:10.

That gives me hope. I'm not willing to turn down the resolution on my 22" LCD. I'd rather live with no AA and no HDR.

That game looks great for 1024 by 768. I would not mind playing it like that.

You would if you had a 16:10 LCD with broken 1:1 pixel mapping.

Yes, then I probably would, but that's not the case for me.

Jesus, that's the sort of computer combat I've been waiting to see for a long time. Crytek does it again!

Looks good! The logs going down hill were cool. And the AI actually died realistically. They didn't bounce off of them into the air doing cart wheels like *cough* HL2.

I'll admit, i wasn't terribly excited about Crysis aside from graphics initially, but the more gameplay i see, the more excited i'm getting waiting for this title 🙂

Well it might be time to pickup a couple of GTXs to run in my SLI motherboard! 😀

AND a quad-core 1333, AND a 1000w PSU, AND 4gig of memory! 😀

Pshh, I don't think 1000w would do it the job lol.

A good quality 600 watt power supply could do the job just fine even for that kind of rig. People overestimate power supply power needed way to much in the computer community today. Its really sad to see.

What really excites me about that review is they specify that hotkeys can be used for weapon and suit modifications. Switching and silencing weapons using a radial popup menu w/ mouse movements is a nightmare for me because it's too damn slow. I grudgingly finished Rainbow Six Vegas, but I wasn't happy about it. So now I'm excited about crysis again. Thanks for the link.

What makes Crysis good is that the developers have talent and balls. They're not pussies who cut graphics and effects down to mediocrity for this or that reason. They're producing an epic ass-kicker with graphcis that will cause jism volcanoes in gamers' panties for years after release

I'd like to share an opinion that I think many people here will agree with:

Its nice to finally see something that is revolutionary and not evolutionary.

I just watched all the vids again and the CryEngine 2 still impresses me the most.

Man, that's a scarry thought. 🙂 I bought a CM Real Power 850w, and if THAT ain't enough for my "Crysis" rig I'm going for a 2 PSU case next.

QFT

The music reminds me of Titan Quest. My god, that game's music was more impressive than the game itself. I got a lot nostalgia from it.
