What kind of dx9 graphics card would you need to run crysis at 1280*1024 on max detail running on dx9 mode. Would it run on max in my current computer.

x1900xtx 512mb will do :p

At GDC 2006 they showed the game running on a single x1900xt 512mb card and it was playable and at E3 2006 they showed it running on a crossfire.

No one can really say for sure seeing as how the game hasn't been released yet. If demos can be used to infer quality of play, then the above statements are correct. I'm betting 8800GTX will be the lowest you want to really experience the game though.

i don't think an x1900xtx will be able to run it smooth on max accoding to what i've been hearing.

LOL, well, considering it is not a DX10 card, playing on "max" isn't really possible? :D

max as in high-low settings not necessarily the DX path -

Even if your X1900XTX is good enough for max settings (which I doubt), the 3500+ isn't going to cut it when it comes to maxing out processor-related settings.

Exactly. There will be a huge performance boost with a dual core cpu.

An e6600 will be enough for ultra high.

I would not be surprised at all to see that.

An E6600 is a far cry from a single core A64. Overall I think dual-core is going to be very important in regards to Crysis performance... quad-core will boost performance in some scenarios but I think dual-core will be the sweet spot. Single-core users are probably not going to fare too well. Obviously if your video card sucks it doesn't matter what CPU you have, but I think Crysis is going to want a balanced system with at least a dual-core CPU and a decent GPU (X1900/7900 and above).

And a new PSU (think about it!)

A new mouse, new keyboard, new monitor, some case fans, water cooling for your ginormous CPU and GTX, and A TV TUNER CARD!

wow this game is so needy!

But you know the only thing people are going to need after this game is launched is a Life.

The game is still months form release and already many people already need to get a life. Me inlucded :-(

Anyway, I don't think the game will run as bad as most are thinking. But as long as i can run 1680 x 1050 with 4xAA and everything else at medium, I will be happy - kind of like CM:Dirt.

What if you can't and you need a new video card ?
