That poster is a liar...I have a much faster system than him and I can not get 50fps ever. Not even as a max fps. Not with everything up like he's saying.

People spew BS about their FPS because they don't even look at FRAPS.

Now when I run DX10 and turn post processing to medium and shadows to medium I get 30fps averages. I use FRAPS so I'm not BSing. I notice a difference between DX10 and DX9.

Why are you so bitchy about the crysis demo? Every post you make about it is just angry.

No I am complaining about blatant liars.

"Oh the game runs 60fps with my AMD X2 4200+ and 8800GTS 320MB and 2GB memory."

No it doesn't!

Just to clarify, (since there seems to be a lot of misinformation going around): This does not get you "DX10 features". What it gets you are are features that are not DX10-specific, but aren't normally accessible unless you're running DX10.

The "Very High" settings are a mixed-bag of DX10-specific, and non-DX10-specific settings. Rather than break them up as such, the developers simply locked out the whole set of "Very High" settings to DX10 systems, regardless of whether the individual settings relied on DX10. However, they only locked them out though the in-game settings.

But don't think that editing the game's config files is suddenly going to get you DX10 specific features.

Of course the real question is: Who gave them the kickback to hide all of these features from users that obviously have the capability to run them? With farcry it was obviously AMD...but nvidia/ati and microsoft all have a vested interest in this one.

It's probably easier to just drop a bunch of stuff off than have to write each one in.

Mmm, I see. I didn't mean you were being negative toward the game, I meant just your attitude in general.

Mine's been running more or less at about 30-35 fps at all high settings... I'll see if I can tweak it a little more. I reverted back to the stable WHQL drivers for my GTX after trying the new one. But now with that vsync tweak, maybe I'll have to try it again.
