Crysis Demo delayed to October 26th, 2007

They need to get a lot of the bugs under control and I think delaying the demo a little will be a really wise decision on their part. I was wondering how they were going to fix all these bugs in Crysis with a little over 2 weeks.

Considering we have retail versions of "Jericho" and "The Witcher" due at end of October I'm in no rush for the Crysis demo.

 Yep. We can wait because it will just allow them to make the game even better! Have you been in a beta of Crysis?

The only thing that really sucks about the Crysis demo is Vista is not offically supported at all. Thinking of dual booting a windows xp install just to run Crysis on so I can maybe have it run a little better. Even 5 to 10 fps improvement for minimum fps would be a huge help!

Yeah I'm not too concerned. Actually as said, it's obviously better that they get some things fixed up. I didn't even realize it was so close to the previous 25th release... I was thinking "holy crap that'll be cool even if it runs like poo on my 7800GT". Got lots more TF2 beta to play, Quake Wars demo, and a million other games.

Wow, looking at a few of the posts in that thread linked in the OP... what a bunch of babies there. On page 3, someone even said

"**** hell. This is so ****. I've been waiting for weeks for this demo. What a bunch of losers. Go kill yourself crytek."

Hmm, so the devs are the losers? Right... That was just skimming a few posts; everyone has their panties in the bunch. Obviously it might be disappointing to some, but jesus it's a demo they are providing a month early, so it's not like you're getting screwed with a delay if you pre-ordered the game (launch date is unchanged at this point).

No wonder devs are going to the consoles. Even a perfect release is met with so much bitching by the PC crowd... I'd rather have some appreciation. Hahha, "let's boycott this company" hahahah wow too bad.

I won't worry about Crysis,I'm sure retail version will run fine on Vista(has to if its going to have dx10 support),I'm playing old classics like Icewind Dale 2,BG series that were made way before Vista was even alpha.

Yeah the Crysis MP Beta is getting boring a little. Will be nice to see how it works and plays in DX10. Though this beta will only be in DX9.

I'm annoyed, but what else can be expected besides one trillion delays of every game that ever comes out.

I dig crytek and I'm glad they're working everything out, but as a general principle it'd be nice if once in awhile a game came out without 50 delays

Very annoying and unfit, yet expected. We can do nothing but wait and see, I do hope however that the delay will indeed help "fix things up" that they hadn't fixed up in the past three years of so called "development".

Well, I'm also disappointed but I suppose it is for the best...

PROS: More driver optimizing, more tweaking, inclusion of Sandbox 2 Editor.

CONS: Longer wait, larger demo download size.

OVERALL: Hopefully a better gaming experience. Hats off to Crytek!!

Yes it has been in development for quite a while. It doesn't look good at this point in my eyes. However, I don't care. Too many other games to be playing, both on PC and my 360.

I'll be honest with you, I have no idea how Crytek plans on releasing Crysis in less than two months based on what I've heard with the beta. If that is all they have 2 months from release, then I'm not sure I'll be purchasing it.

For me it depends on the demo - that's why Crytek delayed it, they know that what they have now is nowhere near release-quality.

I 100% agree...I was handily unimpressed with what I saw of the beta and it's not all performance related.

I personally don't care if they delay even more, so long as it doesn't turn into duke nukem forever types of delays. I care that the final product is bug-free and as perfect as it's gonna get.

I just looked at those screenshots... holy tomato those are incredible! Nearly photo-realism on that one foilage shot. Wow.

If it's unplayable with those settings it is a bit pointless to me

It sucks, but not that much. I'd rather give them the time to make the game right the first time. Not release the game then have a patch available before it even hits shelves...

Wow...bug-filled Crysis and complaints from users. They should have shocked the world like they did with Far Cry. I heard nothing about that game until I played the demo and my jaw dropped.

They'll probably pull it together. They've gotten tons of positive buzz from all the gaming magazines. If it's just bugs they will be quashed. If the game sucks, well then it's the new Doom 3.

They would do much better to just make their first announcement WAY far out and then give it a chance to be released early.
Along the same line of thought, delaying it once for a year is much less annoying then delaying it 12 times for one month each.
Again, they have a chance to release it early if put the date way out there and look cool in the process.

Well, I think one thorn in their side is a lack of competition in the video card market. Nvidia is rolling over ATI/AMD. We need to see some new cards on the market, and lower prices. And that is not going to happen until ATI/AMD gets their head out of their asses. We knew this was going to be a demanding game since we first had news of its existence. Everything else is cheap, quad core for less than 300, and memory cheaper than its ever been.

You'd be surprised at how many bugs a dev team can crush in as little as a few weeks - they are probably on crunch time working 14-20 hours per day, 7 days a week. My guess they probably encountered quite a few glaring bugs that required a little bit more time to work out.

The posts on the other forums are nothing new - I allways get a good laugh at those responses because most of the "haters" will post something along the lines of "ZOMG..THIS GAME IS SO KOOL... YOU ROCK CRYTEK!!" once the demo is released. 😀
