If by "they" you mean 3DRealms, then when did they claim to have stopped and what does that have to do with Crysis?
 
Well, with Supreme Commander running well on my 7800 and with Crysis delayed, it looks like I'll be skipping the 8000 generation of video cards all together.
 
Losing interest in Crysis. Titles I'm looking forward to are: Next Battlefield Game, Company of Heroes Ex-pack, Empire Earth 3, Next PC Ensemble Game, Frontlines Fuel of War, Medieval 2 Total War ex-pack, and World in Conflict.


Crysis can come out when it wants to, I'll get it (maybe) but I'm not that psyched about it tbh. I'd only be into the MP anyway.

Because I read the whole thread, I saw where somebody mentioned calling some game or other "Forever", as in Duke Nukem Forever. It relates, but I'm not sure yours does. I had read they had ceased working on DNF a few years ago due to legal conflicts with their engine or something.

(According to 3D Realms at least), DNF is still under development (and has been). I don't want to threadjack this topic though.


More ontopic, I upgraded Fall 2006, and at this point there'll be nothing worth playing on this setup for a year, in which case I could have bought something a lot better (or this like twice as cheap). Oh well.

i tried the demo of 2142, and while it wasn't bad, it didn't support my usual soundcard (every other game i play does though😕:|). i did not encounter any bugs in the demo, the menus STILL took about 20 minutes to load as with BF2... WHY? that alone pissed me off enough.:|

LOL, I had hardly noticed. Ah well, good news and relfief for everyone then. Maybe it'll come out summer afterall. (Which would be nice).

Hell no, i want c&c 3 now! The engine its on is like 3 years old too, so the sooner the better. As long as it aint a rush job like bf2 (dosent seem to be).

I extracted some of the .big files in C&C 3 and noticed there's about 7 or 8 missions for each faction. Sounds about right. Though I do wish they made the game more "epic". Generals offered around 5-6 missions each with around 10 skirmish maps. I would like more around 10-12 missions for each faction with around 20 skirmish maps.

I also noticed that the Demo seemed to be lacking stuff...the units and upgrades I think are lacking. They need more upgrades and more depth. However after looking at some of the game files it looks like this game might be as easily mod-able as Generals.
