It looks pretty, no doubt, but my problem with Crysis 2 was NOT the graphics, it was the corridor / Call-Of-Duty / gameplay mixed with absolutely ridiculously dumb story.

My poor mobile i3 was getting crushed watching that in 1080P. I wonder how many GTX 680's or 7970's were running that gameplay demo, graphics looked great and it looks smooth.

No current gen gpu will max it out without AA even at 1080p leave alone 1440p. Infact we might end up at mid-high settings only if we aren't lucky. This is with a 7970 ghz at 1080p no AA and 3770k+ class CPU.

The graphics are incredible. Crytek told us when they brought out the original Crysis not to expect better graphics for along while. They were right...until now with Crysis 3!

GPUs and CPUs have advanced so far ahead of game engines that my lowly i5 2500K overclocked to 5GHz and my 2 lowly GTX 460 1GB overclocked to 840/1680/4200 in SLI will run Crysis 5 let alone this Crysis 3 maxxed out at my 'low' resolution of 1680x1050.

I bought Crysis 2 on Steam, did a few os installs and game installs then was told that I couldn't activate it again due to too many activations. Is Crysis 3 going to have drm/activation limit because if it is I ain't touching it. :|

I had other games do that. Just call EA and they will reset the limit. They are really good about it.

looks great. sad to hear they are wrapping up with this. hoped that once consoles moved to the next gen they would go back to a true open world design

i was averaging 45 - 50 FPS with everything on "very high" settings @ 1200p in the alpha, which crytek admitted to having buggy coding. hd 7970 @ 1181/1575.

i had to turn off crossfire as dual gpu's were not supported in the alpha, but judging from the performance i got from a single card, i'm certain that in the final code dual 7970's/680's will be able to max out the game at 60 fps/1080p with varying levels of AA, no problem. unless crytek purposely makes the game difficult to run even on high-end rigs...

anyway, for those of you wanting to see the footage in all of it's uncompressed glory, here is the direct download

1.2GB version.

Downloaded the 1.2GB file, this game looks insanely good on a visual level. I know the viral marketers who never touch games will come in screaming about benchmarks and textures but this is truly a major step up on the visual front. The level of geometric realization, the ditching of the now antiquated alpha hacks, the amount of physical interaction occurring in the world, tip my hat to Crytek- that is incredible :D

Looks awesome to me.

With this and Metro Last Light, may finally have a reason to upgrade at least my gtx 580. This lull has been kinda nice, maxing out games for 2 years @ 1080p on the plasma, and over 3 with the rest of my pc.

But it's time for new shit, getting too much money in my bank accounts :(.

A 2500k 5ghz with 460 oc sli can't even max out Crysis 1 nor Crysis 2 at 1080p no AA at 60 fps.

Lol, just cut the crap.

And dual 7970s isn't a current gen gpu. I am talking of single gpus, not cf or sli.
