Hey. So here is the problem. I think that my pc is dont performing well what it should be, or i am wrong?
On mission 1 i have sometimes dips to 45 fps even 39 fps in opean areas.
I am playing on 1920x1080, V.HIGH , FXAA ( the lowest AA )

Here is screen for example from one place:

image.jpg

I am playing on Asus Gtx 780 DCII, I7 3770K 3,5 ( no OC ) , 8gb ram. 331.82 WHQL drivers.

I just found some youtube user movies and other peoples with the same card and cpu have 60 fps here, while i get 46 fps. Can somebody check that place with 780 GTX?

Once you are happy with your FPS you should be able to up the AA to at least medium SMAA for better image quality and sharper textures for very little performance hit.

Just out of interest can you monitor your boost speed in GPUz.

Crysis 3 is quite demanding on very high. Try reducing graphics settings like shadows to see if your performance improves.

Even on a 780Ti, the game is very demanding. I'm not really surprised at your results.

Crysis 3 is a game where you need SLI 780s minimum if you want 60 fps all the time at 1080p or higher while maxing everything.

Only the first 1-2 maps are demanding. And in open areas you won't get constant 60 fps. But avg will be greater than 60 fps through the game, not in every area though. The area you are in is so demanding that it halves the fps in c3.

So 38 fps in first mission on Gtx 780 ( Asus little OC DCII and I7 3770K 3.5 ) is sometimes normal? I am using 1920x1080, FXAA, V.HIGH.

Well, my friend r9 290 make a little more than 30 FPS avg at 1920x1080 8xMSAA.

I'm not invoking a flamewar here, i'm saying your FPS is bad. That's why we need another game FPS to identify better the problem. You should be doing close to 60FPS during the whole game at 1080p VH/VH+FXAA.

That doesn't sound dissimilar to what I was getting with one 780 and a 3770 at 4.5

I think you are not right. 60 fps during whole game even 780 Ti is not enough. You are wrong.

So thats why i am asking somebody here to test that place on GTX 780......
Anyway i have a stock 780 GTX ( 1012mhz boost ) and stock I7 3770 3.5

I am using V.HIGH details + FXAA.So can check anybody that place from screen ?

In the first mission at times you will drop to 30s or even lower. Avg will be 60+ though. If you reduce to high from v high then you will get 50+.

I have a r9 290oc and the first map is very intensive. Going forward your fps will start getting better.

Seems about right for your config OP. You can gain a good chunk of GPU bound performance with minimal IQ loss by setting ssdo to 0 and ssao to 1 or 2 instead (via console). You might find you can maintain 60 with that tweak. I would also use SMAA instead of FXAA.

Do a Fraps benchmark in levels 1(4 minute gameplay) and level 3(from start until you enter the elevator after the first fight) and show your FPS to us. CPU bottleneck is really low with a i7 3770@stock.

And do you have another game to show tests for us? Can be tombraider built-in test.

I was tested a moment ago Call of Duty Ghosts with 1920x1080 and all ULTRA, TXAA 2x and Dog Fur on HIGH. Playing level hunted on Jungle my fps was always above 50-55 + fps.
On Gtx 770 i was had from 39-45fps there and without TXAA. So yes in GHOSTS i am happy on performance.

+ missions with DOG ( fur on HIGH ) , that card can easily render high framerate even with FUR DOG on HIGH , when 770 cant do it. I know FUR feature is sh** but i only check it.

Crysis 3 was designed to "melt your PC". And it does just that.

This is PC gaming. IQ settings and performance requirements are much higher than consoles, and it is up to you to optimize the game through smart setting choices.

Some games are not designed to be played at max settings when they are released. Crysis and Crysis 3 are a couple of such games. To max out settings requires unreasonable hardware.

I was asked to relay a message from another poster on a possible solution to your problems:

look part of this is his cpu. I tested the crap out of that level and that is why I now have an oced 4770k. my 2500k at stock dropped into high 30s and oced to 4.4 dropped into high 40s. now with oced 4770k it will rarely dip right below 60 fps in the same spots. thats with an oced 780 and using very high settings with medium shadows and SMAA 1. on those settings an oced 780 can maintain 6O fps nearly the whole time with the right cpu. in other words ask him to lower shadows to medium and if he cant get large boost then its his cpu.

Hopefully it helps.

Your COD Ghosts performance is very good.

Go big or go console.

Agreed but some people don't want to deal with SLI issues. Years ago I did SLI and didn't like dealing with it. Things may be much better today but I'm still of the opinion that one should buy the best single card possible. Maybe my thinking is outdated.

Yes, but there's no need to go SLI 780 to play it.

GTX 780(Ti)/Titan/290x/290 allow FPS numbers above 50 on VH/VH, and GTX 670/680/770/280x/7970Ghz make it playable(Fps above 30) at the same image settings.
