Crysis 2: Everything about DirectX 11, 3D without perfomance-drop and 8-core-optimiz

If the game is GPU bound it doesn't really matter how many CPU cores it supports, because the graphics card will bottleneck the system. This is exactly what happened with Crysis, Metro 2033, and most other modern games.

Lightweight engines like Source might show some differences, but then nobody cares about 120 FPS vs 160 FPS anyway.

I'll start caring about Crysis 2 when i can play Crysis 1 maxed out settings at 60FPS without spending $1000+ on GPU's.

In that case, you should care about Crysis 2 since you wont need to spend $1000+ on a GPU to run it at 60fps. But I guess we'll have to wait and see how performance really is.

the videos have not been impressive either and the graphics look pretty dull imo. really even the original Crysis was not all that great looking in many places. the inside environments and many of the objects were worse looking then some console ports.

I agree.

I still find BC2 to be the best looking game overall so far.

Certain maps on my monitor from a distance look truly breath taking.

Then you need your eyes checked out, sorry.

I loved how BC2 looked - it was the first game since Crysis where I was really impressed. Of course, my poor little rig probably couldn't deliver the Crysis experience how it was intended, but considering that was about two years ago I wasn't going to sink even more cash into my box.

yep... and i have this feeling that since they are now focusing on all other gameplay elements and laying off the graphics (besides polishing and refining what they have).. it's really going to start shining as hardware catches up and the engine gets more effecient.
