Exactly, and console games make developers/publishers way more money. I'm not saying that PC gamers should grovel on their knees for decent PC games and non-broken console ports. We deserve just as much quality as console gamers for our money, however, I have yet to see how Crytek screwed over PC gamers by not including DX11 in the initial release of the game. It's not the crazy tech demo system killer Crysis was (which PC gamers bitched about also), but it's a still a fun game.

Fun is a subjective term, but I'll grant you Crysis 2 is a quality product. Nor am I arguing they have screwed over PC gamers, merely that they have evidently abandoned us in favor of consoles. At best we are now an after thought and can expect future versions of the game to similarly emphasis console play and graphics at the expensive of the PC.

exaggerating for effect = drama queen.

Urbandictionary.com said:
Someone who turns something unimportant into a major deal. Someone who blows things way out of proportion when ever the chance is given.
"Oh my god! You copied that without giving the other person credit! That is just mean. You're horrible, don't talk to me. Im gonna go tell everyone what a cruel person you are just so they will pay attention to me and think im cool."

Since your definition of drama queen is an exaggeration of the more commonly used definition and you have pursued the issue so doggedly I can only conclude that you are projecting. That is, you are a drama queen who loves to call others a drama queen.

No, you really are being a drama queen. You also might want to get a better definition source than urban bloody dictionary.

You're basing this assumption solely on a 3 week gap between the game's launch and a confirmation of a DX11 patch? Never mind the fact that Crytek has a track record of adding features post launch:

Far Cry HDR patch: http://downloads.guru3d.com/Farcry-Pre-Release-HDR-+-AA-patch-download-1293.html

Far Cry AMD64 Edition: http://www.anandtech.com/show/1677/1

The DX11 patch is forthcoming, now I'd like to see a Crysis 2 high res texture pack.

Minor patches and bug fixes are one thing, while Dx 11 is another animal altogether. Nor am I basing my assessment merely on the lack of Dx 11 support. The game also offers minimal graphics settings and no developer's console. Unless they come out with support for modding as well as Dx 11 its pretty safe to assume they've not only put PC gamers on the back burner, but abandoned us.

abandoned would mean there is no PC version

stop crying like a little bitch

if you don't like the PC version, don't play it

go back to playing your DX11 titles, regardless of how good they are, at least they are DX11, right?

Oh - and the moron that thinks DX11 would be 'easy' to do on XP - get a clue.

It is easy to do and it does exist in a form that any moron could do. Would you like a lmgtfy?

XP is TEN YEARS old. TEN YEARS!

in 10 years of running your computer... you couldn't save say... $10/year to buy a new OS that offers a ton of improvements and new features?

at that point why not just switch to linux if you're that hellbent on giving MS absolutely ZERO money?

I ain't crying little boy. I'm just stating the facts. If the truth hurts that's your problem.

As for being able to play it on PC, I can also play Pong on my PC. Who gives a shit.

And you wonder why developers don't support PC gamers as much as they used to? No matter what they do you complain.
Yep, exactly. There is no perfect game and there are always issues and things that should get fixed. But most PC gamers these days seem to whine on the forums about every little thing and act like it affects them dearly.

So I don't see this DX11 release helping Crysis much.

They release it and it doesn't offer much graphical increase? Whining about how Crytek did a poor implementation of DX11.
They release it and it offers better graphics but much lower performance? Same whining.
They release it and it's okay (decent graphics improvement at good performance levels)? "We waited all this time for this? Pfft Crytek sux console port DRM draconian console noob"

who cares? it is one game. there are hundreds of better games out there
Yep. I already beat it in single player, I'm not interested in MP (it's hard enough to kick my TF2 addiction to play SP games), and I don't feel there's much replay value.

But I guess it will be nice for people who pick up the game much later who have good enough hardware.

I have XP and 7 dual booted, but I have all my old games still installed in XP since I don't want to bother reinstalling them.

My Packard Bell boots up faster in 3.1 than my Windows 7 does.

Didn't the Alky Project get DX10 to run on XP?

No, they just got the DX10 runtime working. I think you could compare it to using a SATA-to-IDE cable to get a SATA hard drive working on an older PC with no SATA slots.

Someone posted an article on here a while back explaining why DX10 isn't possible on XP but I can't find now.

So, first people bitch that Crysis 2 didn't ship with DX11 support, and now that it's confirmed to be added to the game, people continue to bitch. Okay.

I predict that when the DX11 patch is released, and Crysis 2 still does not become some ultimate benchmark tool a la Crysis 1, people will continue to complain about how the game was designed for consoles and therefore sucks. Yeesh.
