Crysis 1 coming to Xbox/Ps3

remember when Crytek said it was impossible? lol they are the most hypocritical company i've ever seen...they just like to tell certain groups of people what they want to hear

Crysis 1 came out 4 years ago... Maybe at the time it wasn't possible? Maybe it was only possible once they could redo it using the new Crytek engine.

^^This. CryEngine2 was a Windows-only platform. They weren't even sure Crysis 2 would make it on consoles. They proved themselves wrong and now are able to port the original as a result using CE3. But game developers can NEVER be wrong, oh no! 🙄

lol.. are you serious?

The game came out in 2007 on CE2.

CE3 is an entirely different beast and it wasn't until they figured out how to make Crysis2 run on CE3 (not to mention having acquired FREE RADICAL) did they have the resources to actually make Crysis run on consoles.

CE2 didn't have the streaming tech for memory that CE3 does.
 
There seem to be reports from the game developers themselves that the console versions are indeed graphically superior to that of the PC version (their words not mine). As much as I want this to be true, I'm extremely skeptical of this. Note that they didn't say how high end of a PC, just "better than the PC". I guess we will have to wait until tomorrow to find out for sure.

Umm.. it's not even close.

From what I know, they may have polished up the graphics in regards to lighting, but there are comparison videos that show the textures aren't close to the original's "Full Spec" config.

It still looks good though.

I would tend to agree that you're most likely correct, however, since the game is not available yet, how are you making this determination? Is it by watching the gameplay video's on youtube?

I'd be surprised if it looks better, however I still wasn't impressed with the first one when I played it this year. It required some heavy modding to get the "wow" I expected. Textures weren't that sharp even on ultra. I can't imagine them being better (or even on par) with consoles though, so unless they had a pretty awesome breakthrough in texture tech they're not being wholly honest.
 
I love Crysis, but my PC couldn't handle it at a very high level at all. This is easily a day one purchase for me.

Is Warhead included?
 
they pulled it from the marketplace. The achievements are broken, since they havent been uploaded to xbox.com yet. If you get any, you have to delete and recover your GT and then get the achievements again.

sigh...
